Hi guys,

Ive been taking finasteride for 5 months at varying doses, i have taken either 0.5mg every 3 days and every other day. I am still experiencing a lowered libidio and weaker//no spontaneous erections. Should I take time off from the drug and try to restart it gradually, or will it not work for me at this point?

Not looking good is it? Ideally you should be adjusting with time and 5 months is pretty long and you're not even on the proper dose - very sensitive you are it seems. Maybe give it a year but I know I would be worried if I was getting sexual sides. I never got any at all even from the beginning, the first time I took it I got some mild ones but that was probably due to the shock to the system and lasted a day or so. I have been on 5 mg daily too for weeks now and total of 7 months on finasteride.

So you can give it more time or think about a topical like RU.

do u think if i took some time off and let myself return to normal from sides, and took a different approach to starting finasteride that i could avoid sides? it has stopped my hairloss and im happy with the results

It's a trial and error thing, only time will tell. Personally I would stay on it a bit longer like 2 more months and see if the sides go. Maybe going off it will mean you will be back to square 1 and start the whole adjusting process all over again.

let me say in this way: in the long run you will be ****ed. There is an individual body breaking point, the user are Pro for finasteride till they crash.

I lucked out fortunately and experienced no issues. I guess some people are naturally immune to these side effects.
