Could be because it makes you shed BAD. I have been using it for 5 months and have lost half of my hair in the front and top. :(

I'm coming up to 5 months and my hair looks like sh*t.

I've been advised to ride it out but its killing me at the moment.

What more can I say? It's a f*****g nightmare situation and I never would touched the sh*t if I knew the shedding that it caused.

Neiltom...

Are you on propecia? Sounds like you and I are in the same boat.
Although I am not sure if it's the Naturals I have been taking or the minoxidil that has caused the massive fallout.

I've been on minoxidil only for about 4 months and seen great results (see my story in the"tell your story" section)

Going on finasteride as soon as it arrives in the post plus using retin-a cream and nizoral....hoping to get back the hair I had when I was 23!!

finasteride for 7 months and minoxidil for 5 months.

Only got worse after adding minoxidil. My hairline is kind of still there but its gone from thick to pluggy, sparse and diffuse on the right temple and right side of my hairline and a now in the mid frontal area. The left temple/hairline is pretty much perfect and i havent been adding minoxidil there.

I have to use dermatch and toppik to do my hair now and its getting harder and harder and more depressing to hide this sh*t.

Tempted to shave it off but because of the concealers I'm scared it will reveal a sudden hairloss to family and friends who do not know about my hairloss.

f*****g taking over my life at the moment, perfect hair to sh*t hair in about 9 months. Life's a c***.

I wonder why it is having such a profound negative effect on us? Sure, I was warned about shed, but this is ridiculous.

People have told me I look better with a shaved head, but I have this HUGE childhood scar in the back that I hate having to explain to everyone.

Whats up guys.....

In my opinion minoxidil has worse side effects like shed more hair, itching and irritates skin. I prefer propecia over minoxidil. I hate minoxidil it ruin all my hair

Greeeeeeeeat.

Is there anyone on this forum who shed a lot of hair on minoxidil, but regrew it due to either dropping the product or continuing to use it until it finally worked? Or is it (my hair) gone for good? Anyone?

re:

Propecia 1.5 months minoxidil 2.5 months here. I am 25 and just starting to lose my hair as I have a slight recession and am thinning everywhere.
The shed was downright rediculous starting about three weeks ago. Clumps of long hair was falling out and my entire hand was covered in 100s of hairs when I showered. When I ran my hand through more hair, it would just shed a few hairs no matter what, I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I would say the shedding caused me to go from about a norwood 1.5 to maybe a 2.
Right now things are getting better. I know that it seems too early for results but I am 100% positive that I have had growth on the front of my head. The hairs are thinner but still dark and seem to grow very fast. I now lose about 20-30 hairs in the shower. Of course these hair are in the area where I shed so I am still not at the same point that I was at a few months ago before treatment.
