hi, I have been using rogaine foam 5% for 1 month now, and having side effect badly with

- swelling hands

- faintness

- rapid heart beats (only for 30min~1hr after using it)

and I tried using less amount for twice a day ( like 0.8ml twice a day), but still didn't improve any sides.

So, now what I think I will do is

5% once a day (at night, 5%foam) vs. 2% twice a day (2%rogaine regular)

any suggestions? please...

You're reducing from 1ml to 0.8ml? You'll most likely not see a difference in this, and you're most likely not even reducing your dose by 0.2ml unless you're using the liquid. If you're really taking less than 1ml, I would advise you to stop right now and see your GP. You're having an allergic reaction to the minoxidil.

Rapdid heartbeat, swollen hands, etc. is not an allergic reaction to minoxidil but is a side effect due to the anti-hypertensive properties of the drug. You probably should consult your doctor before continuing with the product or at the very least, ditch the foam entirely as it very well may be the superior penetration that is causing the systemic side effects, and switch to 5% liquid.

For some reason, I thought he was having swelling of the face. Swelling of the face, hives, and difficulty breathing are signs of an allergic reaction. I don't know why I misread that. Swelling of the hands is okay, and nothing to be overly concerned about.

Fast heartbeat and feeling faint is not okay. Stop your dosage and go see your GP before you consider taking a lower dose or skipping doses. We're not your doctor and no one on here should prescribe usage when we don't know your physical condition(s) or potential revelation of a condition.
