your existing hairs definately got alot less whispier at the front.. in the end thats what you could really expect with finasteride but dont worry dude u have another year and a half to reap the benefits until your hair reaches a stand still..

btw we have the exact same hair loss.. my temples arent too bad like yours its that fkn tip of the hairline thats thinning out for me... how do u like finasteride btw?

It seems as if my hairline is slowly creeping downward, which is all I can hope for. I have slight diffuse thinning throughout the top of my head, but my hair is so thick I can hide it pretty easily. If finasteride can strengthen my existing hair for the next two years, and then remain steady for 10 years, I will be super happy. As soon as finasteride starts to weaken, I will switch to dutasteride. Hopefully, a cure will be out by that time. I read posts from 2006, however, and people echo'd the same sentiments, thinking there would be a cure by 2015.

I like finasteride. Watery semen was the only side effect experienced. No lack of libido, no gyno, no brain fog. I try not to get too consumed in the forums' hysteria regarding side effects. I cut up 5mg tablets, and take 1.25 mg everyday. Up until about 1 1/2 months ago, I would take 1.25 mg eod, or even every two days. I feel more comfortable taking 1.25 everyday.

My current hairline is about 1/4 of an inch above my juvenile hairline, and my temples are receded a tad more. I have always had a high forehead, which is unfortunate, because hairline recession only makes it look worse. I am staying optimistic, however.

believe me a big forehead beats being bald.. and plus girls dont see recession as hairloss its more of a unique aspect of a person. until it starts diffusing

Are you sure it was gyno, and not just in your head? This drug is heavily mental... Some of the things you read online will really spin your rationale into oblivion. I hate that you experienced gyno side effects.. I would say taper yourself back onto the full dose, but I'm inclined to believe you would get it again regardless.

i know it definately brought out more gyno.. prior to finasteride and when i was in highschool i was fat and my nipples were always bigger than average but nowhere near pepperoni nipples.. but in a tshirt my nipples never portruded and i always looked like i had a developped muscular chest... once i started finasteride i got lumps and the nipples had filled up to a puffyness... unfortunately it wasnt mental it was real... my plan is to lose more weight and hop back on finasteride but once i lose this norwood 2.5/3 hairline im just gonna throw in the towel i think.. i have strong facial features so im really hoping i could pull it off

Improvement! I see why you initially were confused. Your hairline has crept down which is great but more of a v than before. It may keep improving.

I was taking 0.6 mg daily but last 2 week's it's 1 mg a day. After the growth phase I may cut back just a slight amount.

Thanks mvgame. Really uplifting to read that it's not just me,and it's actual progress. I feel like it will continue to get better, as I'm still shedding miniaturized hair. I'll continue my regimen until the one year mark, and then decide on minoxidil.
