7 month udpate ***pics included***

I have been on propecia and nizoral for seven months. I have done both religiously and have not missed a dose. The old pictures are about 49 days after starting finasteride. Below I will call it 2 months for practical purposes. I don't recall why I did not take baseline pics. I think I was just happy I got finasteride and was occupied with skool. The recent pictures are from over the weekend. I am 23 years old and have been losing hair since I was 19. At 19 I started shedding and did not know why I was shedding at the time. Anyways I was kind of in denial for a couple years. I thought it was something of than male pattern baldness. My dad hax a full head of hair and I was not aware that I needed to be concerned about the hairline of my mother's father. I was not aware of this back then. Now I know all too much about male pattern baldness. I decided not to start min at the same time I did finasteride. I figure since finasteride is stronger I may as well give it a year to see if finasteride alone works. I also use T-gel every third day. If you have questions ask. All the pictures of my hair are when they are wet except for crown. I found this easier and my hairline more visible if I wet it and spiked it. Some of the pictures vary in angle from old to new. Anybody speak Japanese on this forum? Tell me what you think about the pics.

the swirl on the back of your head has gotten aLoT better..

and its done a perfect job of maintainence..your hairline is still the same..it seems as if your temples might've grown just a few hair..but overall .. congrats!..

Thanks for the comments. Will my hair loss be similar in extent to that of my mother's father or is it just kind of random? What norwood do you think I am ?

I thin hairloss is kind of random. Mine looks like a cross between my father's and my mother's father's.

the mothers father theory is a myth. Many times you can take after the patterns of your father, brothers, etc., but there are also times they can have perfect hair and you can be completely bald. Not sure what norwood you are but you caught it in plenty of time. congrats.

You are winning the battle of baldness...how do you feel about that?

I feel good about it. I have not had any sides on finasteride thus far. I am hoping that if I stay on finasteride for years my body doesn't suffer mad damage or have some adverse reaction. I wonder what years of finasteride does to the body if anything at all. I am not trying to bash finasteride. I have nothing to complain about. It is just a concern of mine. Can male pattern baldness shut down for a couple years and then start up again or is it always constant to some degree? I have seen debate about this issue before but I am still unsure of the legitimate answer. Will working out three times a week have a damaging effect on the hair? Will calisthenics have a damaging effect?

nobody can answer your question. the period of time finasteride'll work for a person is totally relative. there are some who complain after 2 years...others are still holding on to their hair even after 6+ years. it all depends on how aggressive your male pattern baldness is and when it'll progress. dont be thinking about this..your hair looks great at the moment.

i guess..i'd call you a norwood 1.5 ish..due to temple recession..

do you still shed hair in the shower or while washing otherwise or has it completely stopped?

I am gonna say if you're a good responder that you'll never lose hair and only keep making gains throughout your tenure on finasteride until you can't gain anymore and it's only maintenance until the day you die or either quit finasteride. That's the answer that I like and why not?

I just took a shower and washed my hair with one hand. I counted 10 hairs when I was done lathering. Can some answer my questions a couple posts above. I need to practice BJJ at my university. I will be back later.
