Hi All,

I think this may be better to get some feedback since the the boards have merged.

I am ,however, not seeing any positive results on dutasteride after completing 7 months. I do have bouts of shedding and regular loss but no thickening up and recently have noticed that my crown is becoming more and more apparant.

I dont know exactly where to go from here. I have been posting every month on my progress, but it seems as if I have not made any- apart from deterioration. I have added spironolactone to my regimen, as I used it before but had to stop due to the offensive smell. Now I apply it at night and wash off in the mornings. I am hoping to add Fluridil to my regimen v soon- once it arrives.

Just as a summary to all those who dont know my background and I would be happy if you could suggest or comment...
Started losing hair at 16-17, didnt really bother me until 26, then took Propecia and minoxidil together. Had amazing results for a diffuse thinner- (with hair loss concentrated with the male pattern baldness pattern), almost total coverage and thickness, but shedding continued throughout this process. Over the following three years I noticed the hairs were losing their thickness from their initial amazing results, but just let it pass by. 7 months ago I decided to act as the hairs were becoming v weak again although the density was stil better than before I started any meds. So I switched over to dutasteride. I did see some initial bumps on the hairline and front bit, but pretty much losing ground after that. Was advised to stick out a year, so thats what I am trying to do... but with very little luck. I hope and pray Fluridil makes a difference. ( I am still using minoxidil and spironolactone=topicals)

sincere comments would be great...

Am watching your progress - am 4 1/2 months into dutasteride and getting worse everyday :(

2 good years on finasteride started to lose ground again so jumped on dutasteride.

Problem areas being (not suprisingly...) hairline and crown which not only shedding but getting weaker. Overall shedding has slowed though which is encouraging. Still abit diffuse as well.

Think it will get worse before it gets better.

Long term dutasteride users say hang in there - at least a year... so that is what I am doing

I've used minoxidil on my hairline (on and off) twice a day for the last 6 months also a quick dab on my crown.

It has helped ... a bit ...

But this dutasteride hairline shed/thinning hurts and Minoxidil can't seem to stop it.
