Ive been on finpecia from inhouse pharmacy for 9 months, and rogaine foam for 13 months, and so far nothing. I am switching to name brand propecia soon, but as of now I cant say wether my crown is any better or worse, but my hairline looks terrible, and has definately gotten worse once I started finasteride.

I use toppik and it covers it up so my hair doesnt look too bad until its wet, but its starting to really get me down that im wearing toppik.
I am only 23 and am getting very discouraged, I can accept that I'll be bald one day but it seems like Im going to be there within a few years, which is way too young for me. I just hate obsessing over my hair and trying my hardest to not let anyone see my hair when its wet.
I almost want to shave it, but I figure that theres no turning back once I do that and theres no more hiding it then either.

Anyway any encouragement would help, maybe finasteride will start to do something in the next few months, I feel like at the rate I shedding my hair I dont even know how there is anything left up there

There is about 4 or 5 of us on here recently with the same problem and generally at the same time period on finasteride. I'm at 11 months and there a few others at 10, 13 and 15 months. Hang in there and keep reporting your progress.

Lately there seems to be an abundance of late term users (9-14 months) not doing so well and not many reports from guys having luck. I'm hoping that, for some odd reason, the estimated 12 month goal is just not the standard anymore. While it is hard to find people, it seems as though the majority reporting that stuck with it through the second year are happy. Maybe we just have to stick it out.

Good luck
