Nizoral dries out your hair, but i think its too much if you use something after wards. What i do is on the days i use nizoral, i use nizoral and nothing else. on days i don't use it, i use a shampoo mixed with a conditioner. I would go with nizoral 1 % and use it on monday, wednesday, friday.

What's difference before nizoral 1% and Regenpure DR? Or there isnt one? Sorry too lazy to look this up. I saw Regenpure DR is best nizoral shampoo but its actually keto 1% as nizoral is no longer sold or something like that?

It's completely unknown which of Nizoral or Regenpure performs better for male pattern baldness.

I don't use Nizoral because it contains "sodium laureth sulfate", which is pretty much equal to "sodium lauryl sulfate". These chemicals dry out the scalp and are potentially not good for hair growth. See this video for more discussion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQBk3_73Ubk

My shampoo preferences are Regenepure DR or Big 3 (Lipogaine). These do not seem to irritate my scalp at all. I noticed that my scalp is now free of dandruff and other impurities, but you must let it rest on your scalp for ten minutes or more. See what works for you.

Sorry, why not using conditioner after Nizoral? that'd seem pretty logical to me..

Anyway, in my opinion Nizoral is the best shampoo for itching/dandruff/balding hair, 2 times a week forever.

As the instructions on the bottle says "every 3 to 4 days and once the dandruff is gone one a week should be enough". If you do it more then this you could actually be doing more harm then good.

As for conditioner that's down to personal preference. Some people feel conditioner is essential because nizoral dries out their hair and irritates their scalp but others don't have this problem. Either way though using conditioner can't do ay harm.

I would also advise to a quick pre wash first.

I used Nizoral 2% for about 6 months. I had excessive scalp sebum (it got worse when I started finasteride) so I applied nizoral every two days, instead of the every 3 or 4 days indicated on the box. About two weeks later I realized my sebum reduced drastically so I lowered the dose to two times a week, eventually applied it only once a week.

Sides: Had minor discoloration. I have black/dark brown hair for the most part, and some parts looked reddish and also got some gray hairs (never mind it though). My hair started to shed drastically around the six month mark, which prompted me to stop using it even though I can't assure it was nizoral causing it.

Conclusion: I'm very positive I recovered the shed hair once I stopped, and also the six month mark worked just fine for me because 1. I haven't got the awful scalp rash I had before using Nizoral and 2. If I ever got back to excess sebum I would use nizoral again since nothing considerably bad happened during my usage.

Edit> Ah, typical of me, I didn't answer anything you asked for.
1. I don't use conditioner. I only use natural shampoos, with the least of chemicals and every time I used nizoral it was just the nizoral.
2. 2% is much more stronger so it isn't suited for delicate scalp skin. The reason I used it was because my problem was rather severe. Like really, really painful rashes so I never even thought about getting the 1% nizoral.
