A (quite) desperate question about Rogain treatment

Sigh

Err... Well I was using Rogaine 5% and Propecia until September, and the extra hair loss from the shredding period is starting to reduce. But I lost access to the drugs for one whole month (in my country prescriptions are needed to get the drugs) since September, and now there is SIGNIFICANT hairline receeding on my frontal part. I am only 20 years old and this really frustrated me. My hair line had dropped another 1.5cm(at the very front) to 2cm (at the side) during the past month. I understand that hair maintained by minoxidil will shred after stopping the treatment. Now that I have my drug supplement back, I really want to know if I am able to, at least, get back my hairline to where it was at September (even so it is already very bald, if compared to my hairline last year).
I have stopped one whole month of Minoxidil and Finasteride, and this costs another few centimeters of my precious thin hairline (the thinning is still continuing even during the treatmet), I am really frustrated now and really hope that the shredding effect from stoppage of treatment is not permenant...
I will appreciate if there is anyone with creditable information to share with me.
Titanium from viewtopic.php?f=42&t=55121&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=10 mentioned that the hair will be back. No offense but there are many newbies in this forum posting random information, I just need a more creditable answer.

honestly buddy, it seems everyone has different experiences with this

ill be honest and say hairline loss it the least likely to return there are several guys on here that swear minoxidil made irrepairable damage to their hair (mainly hairlines)

but on the flip side i feel my hair is growing back since a bad minoxidil related shed (i had went off it) so its not a lost cause

hang in there bo

most of these hairs are coming back, but it won't be 100% as before. That's my experience too. Good luck!

Thank you for the kind responses. I had tried to brace myself for negative answers, but still.... sigh. Oh well, I guess there is nothing much I can do beside trying to adhere to the treatment. Good luck to everyone in the battle against hair loss.

Remember, yours hairs are technically miniaturizing, not "Losing." Rogaine prolongs the hair cycle to increase the density of your hair. Most likely, you just got a post rogaine shed, as the drug was no longer extending the life cycle of those hairs.

Long story short, yes you can grow it all back. Although everyone here is fighting an uphill battle, as the hair will eventually go. Many people believe their medicines are no longer working because the hair stops growing back after time, when in reality they have no idea how much they have combated the onset of male pattern baldness.

I actually agree with the above statement. I greatly believe minoxidil when you stop using it, causes irrepairable damage!

By stopping minoxidil, does someone lose only the hair that he gained by minoxidil or he also loses the hair that was there even without the minoxidil?

Starting rogaine was one of the worst things I have done for my hair I think, although one can never be sure. I shed like crazy every time I applied it. Then I stopped after a year and a half or so because I thought I was making bad worse. Then a couple of months went by and loads of hair fell off. Never got back to where I was... Wish I had discovered nanominox earlier, think it might have been a bad reaction to rogaine that caused the constant shedding..

You lose hairs that are getting benefit from its use. Regrown hairs, or hairs that were miniaturizing or was about to leave your scalp in the next months.
