I hope someone can help me or maybe others have similar issues.
I basically worry that my hair changes could point to something systemic or more serious.
I am male 30yo, and for a few years now I have been noticing changes which concern me.
I have already been to dermatologists but they really were no help at all and didn't even take this seriously
and just told me there is nothing you can do about it or that it was simply "aging" which sounded like complete crap
to me cause if this was simply aging then everyone would have it and people at the age of 70 would have a full head full of sick looking
deformed hairs. :doh:
There are basically 2 things which I notice:
1) When I comb my hair back or when I part my hair back then there are always
many short hairs (about 1 inch long) which look unhealthy and also a bit thinner and they're also not as straight as my normal hairs. I seem to have this issue on the entire head, but it's most noticable on front because there I see it when I comb the hairs back. (see pictures)
I do not know what causes these much shorter hairs. I definitely do not cut them this short. And it also doesn't seem to be the case that all I have to do is give these hairs time to grow and then all short hairs are gone. The issue has been existing for at least 2 years. No matter how long I wait and no matter how long I cut my hair these short hairs are always there!
To me this is definitely not normal. Other people do not have this. It also doesn't look good.
Any ideas what could cause this?
Could aggressive shampoos cause this? I have scalp issues (seb dermatitis) and often need dandruf shampoos (ketoconazole).
2) This second issue is even more strange and concerning. I have no pic of these sick looking hairs at the moment but if someone is interested I could try to make some but it's hard cause they are single hairs and I don't know if I can take pics of them where they are visible.
I have been noticing for many years that I am growing hairs on my head which look totally sick and twisted. My normal hairs are straight and have a smooth surface.
But these sick hairs are basically twisted kinda like when you hold your hair over a flem and then it curls up and the surface is also totally uneven! They really look nothing like normal hairs. If I saw
them I'd think they have been manipulated or exposed to something toxic.
Actually these hairs look a lot like pubic hairs! Pubic hairs also have this uneven texture.
I really have no idea what could cause this but I am getting many of these hairs. Some of them are really thin and others are really thick. When I comb by hair then these sick hairs are always visible because they cannot really be combed.
Any ideas what could cause this?
