You think the treatments will make a difference at this point? He pretty much looks like he's Norwood 6 or 7 already.

I don't think his FUE yield will change much if he stays on them or not.
I dont know about the doner area but what he has left on top will be gone pretty quick if he comes off.

The photo on the left is one year ago about 1.5 years into fina. The photo on the right is now. I am going to make sure I religiously stick to my routine and revisit the question in a month. If any of you guys know or remember Georgie, she pointed out to me when I showed her the pics that little black dots are still all over, so the hairs might still be there and growing either due to a shed or the way I cut them. If I don't look like the photo on the right again by May 14-15 I'll come off of the drugs and shave my head.
And you never stopped taking finasteride during the period between the two photos?

The hairs are not lost. This is backed up by people who go on HRT and regrow most of their hair after years of being bald.

Here's a photo today with some different light. My hope is that in a month it will look like the one from 2019. I spent a couple hundred bucks on a derminator 2 so I will put that to use tonight. If I can't get to where I was back last year with a bit longer hair and adherence to my regime I'll just shave it down to the skin and be done with this decades-long nightmare.

Well I am never going to go on tranny drugs for my hair, I would much rather accept my fate as a bald guy, so if they're at the point where that is the only thing which can bring them back then they are effectively lost for me.

Has anyone ever gone on HRT and not killed their sex drive and grown tits?
Serious question

Even if their dick still worked and no tits developed they would still be feminized. I'd rsther be a masculine bald guy than a stereotypical "soy boy" with nice hair any day of the week

You do you. Their insane hair regrowth is true evidence that hair follicles are not lost, even years after being bald.

now, can you please answer my first question?

As far as I know, no, no one.

No I never stopped finasteride for a period of more than 3 days over since December 2017.

Oh. Sorry that it didnt work out for you. You can step it up to duta though.

I'll wait for a month to see if it looks better when it is a bit longer and I have been more consistent with my routine. I'll discuss that with the doctor I am working for but if there is no improvement I will likely shave my head at that point.

Honestly, doubt it would get any better after 2+ years on finasteride. You should hop on duta as you’ve got nothing to loose. You mentioned being on oral minoxidil? If so what dosage?

I am on 20 mg of oral minoxidil. I believe at this point the fact that it looks worse is due to a recent shed of unknown origin (I had an acne breakout up there too) and how short I cut the hair (I shaved it down to a 1). 1 month should be sufficient to see if this is true or not. Duta is a much less safe drug than fina, I have alot to lose on that.

If i remember correctly, there is a study that shows duta has a similar side effects profile to finasteride at certain doses.
This shed could be from minoxidil. Didnt know about the shed. It is wise to wait a bit and see what happens.

I would drop the oral minoxidil. Your topical is comprehensive enough. You should consider using Prox-N. That is an angle of treating hair loss you are not using. Too much redundancy is not good when treating hair loss. Using Retin-A and derma rolling is going to over exfoliate your scalp and cause more irritation.

I noticed good results when I first started oral minnox. What is prox-N? I am it familiar with it. I've been on the RetinA solution for almost 2 years now, I think my scalp has adjusted to it.

Also my oral minnox comes in a pill combined with my fina and I have a 3 month supply currently, it's kind of baked in

Bruh i think you should throw everything at it. Even natural. Get the 10% minoxidil with all the extra stuff in it. Throw everything at it now. dutasteride topical spironolactone even try dht blocking herbs and apply them topically too.

Why? I think there comes a point where money and quality of life versus keeping your hair doesn't make sense anymore.

Prox-N has copper peptides and other ingredients that help with the inflammatory process of male pattern baldness. By the way, I do agree that using Prox-N is probably more likely to have a beneficial long-term effect than just using Rogaine by itself. Prox-N has more going for it than just the one agent in Rogaine, and those things seem to me to be more important in the long-run than minoxidil. Things like various SODs, including TEMPO/TEMPOL and PBN.
