Adding Dye or Color to Hair System DIY

Hey all,
I wear a mono hair system w/ the skin perimeter and have another 2 weeks before I have my visit to the salon, and need to add color as it has lightened a lot since I spent the last few days on vacation outdoors. My salon usually dyes it every month but won't tell me exactly what they use or how they do it - They want me to pay them $100 to do it, and I'm tired of doing that.

What are y'all using?

I just use off-the-shelf products like L'Oreal. My colour is black/brown.

I tend to leave the dye on for around 15 to 20 minutes, which is less than you would do with bio hair.

Be careful not to get dye on the base, especially at the hairline!

Back2Natural works for some. I had to go one color darker that I normally would and I leave in in for 5-6 minutes.

Ah ha. I bet this is what my salon uses, I swear I see that bottle on my stylists counter and she has mentioned that she "rinses it with dark ash coloring and it has to sit for 5-10 minutes" which makes sense when I read the directions on back2natural bottle.

So next question: What shade should I get? Medium Brown or dark brown? Here some pics but remember - it has lightened A LOT since my last salon appointment, lots and lots of outdoors exploring and sun exposure. TIA.
