Admiting it.

I think it's time to stop denying it.
I'm going to start going bald.

While I can't actually see hair loss at the sides or the temples, I shed too much. Wet my hair, it looks limp, lifeless, lots less then what I once had.

The shedding is excessive almost everywhere. Back of my head the most, ironically the non-male pattern baldness area too; bar my sides. If I put my fingers through my hair, clasp them, and run them up, there will 50% of the time be a hair, no matter how much I do it.

Not even 18 yet, but oh well. The thing is...

...it's just started... but I'm not sure I want to do anything about it. Why bother? I mean, if it's already started, It'll all be useless anyway.

Perhaps I should just come to embrace it instead, you know, get over it, rather than swallowing pills for the rest of my years.

i find it weird that youve signed up to a hairloss forum to make that statment, you must be somewhat pretentious about losing your hair. anyways i could be wrong many people do accept their male pattern baldness just not many on this forum. good luck

I'm sorry, you're somewhat right.

Obviously no one takes it lightly, and I can assure you, I didn't.

At first I wanted to do something about it...but then...dunno, it's tough.

Maybe I needed a place to vent. :/

Embracing and getting over hair loss would be ideal. If you feel you can do this go for it. You'll save yourself a lot of stress and money. I wish I could just "get over it". It's hard though. I distorts your self image. It gets better with time.

for me, i dont mind balding just not when im 22. ive been using rogaine for about 4 months now and i think its doing something as i dont shed as much as i use to. the key to these meds is to start them as early as possible for the best possible results. I waited a full year before i started doing something about it and i can assure you is i started earlier i woundt be on this forum. instead of venting and wasting time i urge you to consider a regime and im sure most on this forum will back me up on that. you are very young the meds could do you some good but make sure u have male pattern baldness first. good luck

Well if you dont have any bald patches or visible hair loss and you just shed, maybe your not balding. There are people who have a high shed high growth rate. You could be losing 150-160 hairs per day, yet you grow it back fast. Maybe that is the deal

It would be more acceptable to freak out about losing your hair at 17 rather than when your in your mid 20's or so. I noticed my hair loss at 19, older than you but still too young to be losing your hair. I don't know how aggressive your hair loss is but it has been 5 years for me and you can't tell my hair is thinning yet. I have not been using any of the "Big 3" either. Hang in there.

Im guessing he is thinning rather than receeding.

Believe it or not alot of people think you have to recede to go bald. Quite wrong.

Yes thinning. Receding is obviously going to follow, as much as I do not want to admit it. It doesn't look the same, not that I ever cared much before this tbh.

Ah well, I'm sure there will be a silver lining in this somewhere.

Not unless you take action and do something about it.

noticing a slight degree of thinning is perfectly normal when you are in your late 20's/early 30's --- human ages. But 17/18 is way too young to suffer from this b.s.

Had it started later... then I honestly think treatment would be worth it.

But to have started so young, I believe it will mainly be a waste of time.
