Hi,

here's my story. I've read all the facts I've found in the web, and would now like to have a personal advice from you guys.

I'm 19 ½ at the moment. I think I started losing hair about 2 ½ years ago, after beginning to dye them. At first I thought it was just an allergic reaction or something like that, but about a year ago from now I realized the facts: I was really becoming bald. Yesterday decided I finally do something about the matter. Better later than never, I suppose. :)

Until last summer I had long hair which I dyed regularly. Then I cutted it all off. Since that I've let it grow again without dying. It might be just in my mind, but I think I haven't lost that much hair after that.

So, I guess I'm at early 2 in Norwood's scale right now, and I'm yet able to cover all the unwanted progress with my hair, which is still quite as thick as couple of years ago.

Here are some pics:

What kind of regimen would you suggest for me? I'd be really satisfied if I was able to stop the hairloss and keep the hair I currently have. Yeah, Propecia might do it, but is it oversized solution for my matter? As you can see, the back of the head isn't yet a problem. I'm much worried about the forehead, which is "escaping" rather fast and having a lot of "baby hair" in it. Could I prevent the further hairloss by using only Rogaine on my forehead?

I also studied a bit on our family's history of hairloss. All men at my father's side began to get bald in their thirties. Nothing unusual, I'd say. My mother's side was much more interesting; my grandfather, his brothers and my uncle all had really "high forehead" already in their twenties, but didn't get much balder after that. Is it possible that hairloss stops at some point? I'm not taking any risks on this one, though. ;)

Well, tell me what you think, all kinds of experiences and advices are welcome! :)

P.S. Hope my English is good enough for you to understand.

From what I see from the frontal views your temples MIGHT be receding but you are the best judge.... (if you were to post this picture on a non hairloss related side I wouldnt think you are loosing hair) but if you really think you get those baby hairs at the temples and its getting worse.. then its time to treat it....start with something like minoxidil if need be (on the temples) and nizoral shampoo. Make sure your diet is well balanced. Take natural supplements if there is any lack on your diet.

You vertex looks good (no hairloss) but depending on the pattern in your family, keep a yearly watch on that area.. JUST IN CASE...

also make sure you dont Screw around much with your hair with dyes, or chemical treatments (relaxers) or anyother hot irons... these things accelerate the male pattern baldness process in my opinion.. most ppl take hair for granted until one day they realise they are loosing it

So try the big 2 for now with any herbal supplements (MSM, biotin, multivitamins, zinc) and some good shampoos and do a 6 month- 1 yr review. In the meantime if condition gets alarmingly worse then you might want to add Finasteride... but you are good for now...

Also make sure you visit a good derm before you start Finas.

Your hair is fine. It barely looks like you're losing at all, but you would know better.

Easiest regimen would be a light finasteride dose once daily. No fuss, no muss. Educate yourself by looking around these forums.

I wouldn't recommend much else. You're simply not advanced enough.

I agree with Axon.

At the most you have some very, very mild recession.

Perhaps think about using the American Crew Cu peptide hair care shampoos and conditioners and spray.

If you want the least hassle - pop 0.5mg finasteride per day.

Your hair looks tops.

I'm 100% sure that I've lost some of my hair, mostly in the temple area, and at least part of the symptons refer to male pattern baldness.

But well, at first I'm going to buy some good shampoo from the pharmacy and improve my diet. No dyes anymore either. For now on I'm just going to observe the progress of this situation carefully. You know, I think I might have imagined this whole thing much worse than it really is.

Thank you for your comments. It really helped me a lot and made my thoughts clearer. :)

Page2205,

You have recession, but you don't have the traumatic deterioration of the hairline that characterizes some who are further along in the process.

As such, treat it, but focus more on treatments that involve improvements in scalp health rather than tedious chemically-induced regrowth schemes.

You should be using Nizoral shampoo 2-3 times a week. On top of that, I suggest starting a high quality copper peptide spray, either Folligen or Tricomin.

I agree with Gardener. Definitely stay away from finasteride for now. You're nowhere near a NW2. You have some very slight temple recession. That does not mean you're losing your hair. Keep an eye on it, but you look fine to me.

I would certainely stay off the finasteride FOR NOW, but chances are you will need it at some point. Thats not to say you cant start taking it now but at the moment I would aim for an easy regeime which consists of Nizoral shampoo twice a week (2% stuff is better) and another good shampoo (i.e. T/Gel) all other days. I agree with gardener about using a copper peptide spray, but I suggest American Crew Revitalise, but the choice of brand is purely a personal one.
Hope this helps.
