if I get any at all? My derm gave me a testing pack with 5 pills I think. Is that enough to know how I'll respond side effect wise? I think Im gonna take the jump onto propecia after may 21st, when I'm closer to being 18 than 17.

It seems most of the people here who have had side effects, didn't report any until they've been on it for at least a month. A lot of the times the SE's disappear too. So 5 days in my opinion probably won't tell you anything.
if anything, you might experience no side effects after 5 days and then get lots later. or side effects in the 5 days but they wouldve worn off later once your body balanced it out. i reckon a 5 day trial is more likely to be misleading in terms of side effects than actually help you make an informed decision. hormones take time to adjust and balance.
Cassin's right, people notice side-effects at different times depending on how their body adjusts or responds to the drug. Personally I noticed side-effects around week 2. They have become less intense each month.
