**One of thse question no one seems to be able to answer - or can they?**

minoxidil creates unwanted hair - particularly close to the topical area due to sweating and skin circulation.

So say you do go bald - IE your regimen eventually fails and you give up - what happens to the unwanted stuff.

a. It stays - get used to the tweezers, baldy.
b. It goes with the rest of your desired hair growth.

Is unwanted hair growth a big deal with minoxidil if you are careful about application? I know there is some systemic absorption, which is one reason why the version marketed to women is 2%. Presumably most guys wouldn't care about a bit of extra body hair if it thickens what they have on their head.

unwanted hair below above or next to eyes, eyebrows, cheeks and sideburns falls after you quit.

I am a minoxidil user for 5 years, and also noticed that unwanted hair growth went downhill through the years... Maybe less minoxidil is dripping on forehead, maybe i am applying less, or maybe these hairs fall after some cycles? who knows.

jack after all these years how has your hair been ?

when it first started, i believed that i will lose all my hair in a year or so. (panic)
My derm diagnosed me with male pattern baldness, and got on minoxidil 2% (switched to 5% after about 1 year) with good regrowth and maintainance. When results seemed to start declining (but still above baseline, around the 2 yr mark) i added finasteride .33mg and i keep using the same regimen until now.

I am maintaining a nw2 with ups and downs, but i was very patient and consistent with treatments. Not a day passed without applying minoxidil. I think consistency is the key. I had some sheds but most of the hairs were coming back some months later. I never changed anything.

Overall, results are declining in a slow process but i never imagined that i would keep so much hair for so far. I hope it will stay the same for many more yrs...

OK i'm back.

Consesus says that unwanted hair will go. I read elsewhere that 1-6 months erases all effects of minoxidil.

I live in a hot tropical area so sweating is a mjor problem. Also, I wear a hrd hat with a sweat band for my work. I noticed a growing band of dark hair above the eyeline level as well as growing eyebrows. Plucking hairs is now routine maintenace for me.

Some thing look worse than bald! I gotta know that I can rewind the ape-man look.

Anyway I have pause Minoxoldil for now and stayed with finasteride, just to see some of the unwanted hair go.

On a positve side, the darker colour of my hair is a good look so I might re-start once I am comfortable that I can reverse the unwanted hir if I want to.
