Its worth trying bro. If you can get ur hands on dutasteride definately try it for a year and see assuming you get no sides. Im curious why you waited so long to consider treatment?

I tried propecia for 2 months at age 18, but that was before the generic was out, and it was too expensive for me back then. Then just forgot about it / wore more hats and it wasn't a huge deal to me. But traveled to Asia a few months ago and was surprised how many ladies would directly say things like "What happened to your hair? Why bald so young?" which shocked me a bit.

Emailed my pics to FUE Dr. Koray Erdogan in Turkey today to see what he thinks as well. I have the money for a transplant, and thought I'd be a good candidate, so I'm surprised to hear everybody here saying not to do it either.

If you want hair,a hair system would suit the better for you. Today they like glue the hair to your head and it does not look like a fake thing. I wouldn't advise hopping on dutasteride or even finasteride, as they have side effects.

Why do you guys think that Hair transplant = filling the whole head? Why not work on the areas in the front first, then maybe go back. And concentrate on the patch in the front, and go for this look:

Honestly, I'd just shave it all off :p. I think NW4+ and above should just shave it all off. Sorry for your (hair) loss man.

Spend thousands of dollars for a nw3 or get a hairsystem and be nw2 or less instantly

which choice sounds better lol

Pretty sure using all your donor you’d at best be a thin as heck nw3, probably nw3v.

You could consider going to someone who can use bodyhair and beard grafts, may give you better coverage. But that would probably cost like more than 30k

I'd be happy if a transplant got me to Norwood 2 or 3 to be honest. I wouldn't except a transplant to be magic for me, but better than my current status.

what is keeping u away from becoming a THICK nw2 for $2-300 every 6 months or so? makes no sense why people want to go for a hair transplant willing to spend 10k but refuse instant result systems

There’s just something about having a system that feels wrong. I don’t think I’d ever do that... but then again I didn’t think I’d ever use avodart either so who knows

Maintenance seems high for a hair system.
Replacing the piece every 6 months, and maintenance costs, I think price would be closer to $1,000/year.
For that price I'd rather a transplant for $7k-10k

I don't have any chest/back hair so no transplant grafts there.

They can use leg and beard hair too. I’m not an expert in transplants but I think you won’t be able to get good coverage otherwise.

Here’s what I think you should do... go find a reputable hair transplant doctor to look at your donor for miniturization. If you have no miniturization in your donor then start avodart and twice daily rogaine with dermarolling for one year and see if you get any regrowth. After that look at your options, you may be in a better place then

Also you aren’t gonna be paying 7-10k for a good transplant, it’ll be much more

1k/year? lol no. google hairexperience he pays like $400 yearly.

secondly 7 years of a good hairsystem if we assume that the cost is 1000/year is 1000x better than a few years of pubic-like hair.

Why are some posters saying this is the worst case of hair loss they have ever seen, take a look around there are loads of people in there 30's with hair like the op.
I agree that I hair transplant isn't the best option at this stage and think maybe a system, however I still think transplant at the front and maybe a hair system at the back.
Whatever op decides I wish him the best of luck and don't give up.

I honestly believe at your scale of loss, no treatment available will provide you any positive results. I believe the risks would heavily out weigh any small benefits provided. Even if you're a candidate for a transplant, the only area you would further lose from is your crown and you certainly don't have enough donor to complete that area. So ultimately, a transplant could work if your expectations are realistic, and you are comfortable with crown loss. Another option is to get a small hair system for the crown after a transplant for full coverage. Or skip it all and go straight for a full hair system.
