Am I a candidate for hair transplant?

New to this Forum. Not sure how to attach pictures, which I would happily do. I am 54 and like to have long hair (bleach blond), partly for the comb over thinning on top. I have a very small bald spot at crown, but significant recession at hairline, making me a Nordic Norwood 2.

Anyway, I seem to have lots of thick donor hair and at my age (now on Proscar) am thinking that I might be able to get by with 1 hair transplant to fill in the hairline ( and perhasp the thinning crown), but nothing else.

Any suggestions?

i suggest that you should be happy that you have hair at your age.

sounds to me like you have a pretty full thick head of hair.

how long have you been on proscar? have you tried rogaine?

How to post Pics?

Is there a way to browse to post hair pics? I had been on Propecia for over 1 year and recently switched to splitting Proscar into quarters because that is way cheaper (learned that on this forum) way to stop hair loss. I think it has stopped my hair loss, with minor growth at crown, but no growth at receded hairline. So, other than receded hairline (and general thinning on top), I am happy with hair. I am on the fence about hair transplant just for receded hair line by, say, H&W.

H&W rep told me on phone that they see better results with Avodart than with Proscar. He was cool to Minoxidil, which I too recently bought from Drugstore.com. I am barely suing it 1 x per day becasue I forget at night and don't have time in AM.

britannia, the man is in his mid 50's and probabaly has more hair than 90% of us.

i'm going to look like bruce willis at age 50
