I would say no, its not bad enough to say its male pattern baldness. If you notice thinning anywhere else or the spot gets bigger do something. I am paranoid about my hair to but mines worse than that and im probably still like a NW1 or something.

thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate it. One more question for you though, say I do start to notice a little thinning at the earliest stages of balding and get on finasteride/nizoral right away. Is there a chance to stay at the ealiest stage for say up to 10 years or more and never progress with even a chance at moderate regrowth in areas??

If you are really curious than shave your head to a number 1.

I used to have the same concern because i have a very "spiraly" cowlick in the exact same spot. When your hair is long it can be hard to tell.

I shaved my head around the new year for an unrelated reason. I can obviously tell my hair is completely fine. Its the same density and very hard/spiky unlike hair that is balding which usually becomes soft and downy. It only looked thin because the hair is being pushed out by the cowlick and completely covering the rest of the scalp.

Now im always paranoid about the front hairline as was the last time i shaved it

Your hair looks just like mine in the back the way it was for the past year. I was beginging to thin out a little in the front for the past year and just recently I noticed that I started to thin a litttle bit more slightly in the back on the right side around your area. This is why I decided to start my rogaine foam treatment because what concerns me more is the front but I figured I could stop the back part too before it got any worse since rogaine is meant more for that area anyway.

It also depends on your age, I mean I'm 25 and I know around this age some people start to thin so I figured I'd get on the rogaine foam. At the very least I can tell myself at least I tried to do something about this early. The foam is becomming second nature to me like brushing my teeth and moisturizing, just another part of my daily regimine.

My advice to you is if that is the only thing you are concerned about on all of your head, then you have nothing to worry about. Just make sure to keep an eye on it like once a month or so in case you see or feel any changes. I remeber I was worried just like you about the back and I started to notice a little more change a year later. If it does happen to change, then come back here for more advice. But off the bat your hair looks fine and you could just be acting paranoid.
