I am 21 years old
everyone in my dads side is bald (but started going bald at around 40 i think)
in my moms side everyone no one is bald

If i start Propecia can i keep my the current amount of hair i have for ever?

what happens if i take Propecia and i am not going bald?

in the future (10 20 years) will there be a 100% proof hair loss treatment?

thanks!

Looks like your NW2 right now and your head seems to show some thinning. Has your hairline receded? Propecia usually doesn't stop male pattern baldness completely but it does delay it so it's important to get on it ASAP if you are losing hair.

You do have some frontal recession but very thick hair which is normal at your age, but from the looks of things it will continue, but at a very slow rate, im sure finasteride will hault your hairloss for a long time.

1) Yes, 80% of people after 5 years will have either mainted or re-grown extra hair on finasteride.

2) Nothing will happen if you take it whethere your hair folicles are sentivie to DHT or not, though you do have slight male pattern baldness imo.

3) Nobody knows, research is getting done as we speak, our only hope is just to wait and take finasteride and keep as much hair as we can untill something arrives.

You will know if you are going 'bald'.

Just about every man on the planet has a receeded/receeding hairline though, and its only when you start losing your hair yourself that you notice it. Its called age and nature.

I've decided to forget about propecia, if there comes a complete hairloss cure or an ultimate hair transplant then I might use it, but otherwise I can't be bothered worrying about it considering over 60% of the people over the age of 25 I have ever seen in my life probably have a receeded hairline (which I didnt even notice until I noticed it in myself).

For example, would you consider this guy to be 'balding' (probably the meanest looking guy you will ever see):

I bet you would say no.

Yet look at this (wet) 5 years later:

The guy is receeding slowly, so is his brother. But other than people on this forum absolutely nobody considers them to be 'going bald'.

Have a bit of thinning starting at the crown.

Im assuming you've had a reeceding hair line for around 4 years judging on the temples.

Norwood 2.5-3

Yeah the Klitchko brothers hair is slowly balding, I noticed when I watched one of their last fights that their hair looked less thick. Anyways they are both sissies, I could take them both on at the same time!

I always wished when I was younger that I had hair like Vitali Klitschko, I had no idea that they were receeding until a few months ago when I first saw my hairline change. Which is sort of my point, I think I and most other people worry too much, I doubt the Klitschko brothers even notice it goes so slowy and they always keep their hair short.

Thx for all the comments

i am going to make a doctos appointment to get propecia.

but i was searching propecia on youtube and 80% of the comments where about how propecia's side effects had ruined their lives.

is this true?

When you start taking propecia just be vigilant of side effects. My face started to change - hollow eyes etc so I got off it asap. According to most users on this forum propecia has been completely fine for them; so take the drug if you wish but if you expereince side effects you will need to make a decision whether to discontinue the drug.
