Women use just as much shampoo as men do, if not more. If shampoo causes hairloss, why aren't they suffering male pattern baldness on the same scale that men do?

If shampoo causes hairloss, why does the hairloss only affect the "pattern" area of the scalp that is associated with genetic changes, namely the male pattern baldness area that hormones affect? If its the shampoo, then there would be no male "pattern" baldness, the hairloss would occur all over the scalp wherever the shampoo was used.

Gardener, I personally think women shampoo or even wash their hair less than men. Most women have longer thicker hair than men thus the SLS cannot penetrate their scalps as much as a man's scalp. Cutsinger talks about the application area. I used Head and Shoulders for years and I would always apply it initially right on the top of my head. Well guess where my hair started to recede? You guessed it right at "ground zero". The top of my head. If I had longer and thicker hair like a woman I wouldn't be here arguing with you.

Some women have naturally thinner hair like most men and this is why you see some balding women. Shampoo in almost all instances is the culprit according to Cutsinger and who am I to doubt what he says. I haven't washed my hair with shampoo in over two years.

As I just said Gardener, 99.9% of men apply their initial glob of shampoo either to their crown area or they start out at their front and spread the shampoo to other areas. That's the reason for the similar "pattern" of hairloss in most men. It's because all men pretty much apply shampoo the same way. You don't see men apply shampoo on the sides first or the very back. Guess where you never see hairloss Gardener? That's right, the sides and the very backs. What Cutsinger says makes alot of sense.

Imagine glob after glob of shampoo applied to an area day after day, year after year and certainly one would expect hair loss to occur over time. This is part of Cutsinger's theory on shampoo causing hairloss. I am waiting for him to go from a bowling ball to a Norwood 1. It's taken him 11 years I believe and he should unveil the new Lawrence in July or on Oprah.

As far as these Greeks you mention. I don't know, I am not Greek. They probably played with all sorts of different things to make their hair smell and look better. I am sure whatever they put in their hair was just as bad if not worse than SLS.

Much to the contrary, the facts overwhelmingly point to genetics as the cause of male pattern baldness.

i just bought some rogaine foam cuz i think im going bald and i started using it today. should i continue using it or hold off? the front of my head doesnt have a lot of hair...and my hair is becoming really thin and you can see my scalp. scary!! :freaked: (im 19 yrs old btw)
