Hi.

I'm 17 years old and just wondering whether there are any signs of balding, potentially? My friends tell me I'm overreacting but recently my hairline has changed slightly and I've felt conscious that I might have male pattern baldness. What do you guys think? Am I being paranoid?

Thanks for your response, what do you think about my crown area though? Does it look normal to you?

For your age yes it may be that you are having a testosterone surge especially if you are still growing. Just keep an eye on it, eat healthy take a good multi vitamin with Vit D, B6, B12.

Yes a bit of recession. And FYI male pattern baldness can accure with anyone past 16. It is actually the most common form of hairloss for men 16+.

I started balding a 16. People telling you to take vitamins are full of sh*t

Does it definitely look like recession to you & if so where?

My mother's side of the family do all have a full set of hair as does my grandad from my father's however my father himself has suffered from pattern baldness in his opinion due to stress from work etc.

Definitely you have entered the the black hole named MALE PATTERN BALDNESS where there is complete darkness
Wait for your hairline to reach norwood1.5....
Then think about treating it with the BIG3

You can clearly see the recession....why are you giving him some false hopes
Because A. He is only 17 and has more hair than my 8 year old boy. B. Which Norwood scale would you put him on? To me he is a Norwood 0 so not balding at all.

My question to you is why would you recommend to a 17 who has not reached maturity to go on to the Big 3? You clearly know nothing as no body in their right mind would recommend that to a 17 year old.
