Am I past the point of no return?

I'm 26, and have been losing my hair since about 21. I put off using propecia because I was scared of the side effects. After a few of my friends started using it, and not having any side effects, i decided to give it a try. I started using propecia every day, and Nizoral every 3rd day on March 15th, of this year. So I've only been using for about a month and a half. I'm seriously thinking about starting with Rogain. I need some serious help on the crown of my head. I'm not sure how to post pictures on here, so I had to use Shutterfly.com

Do you think I've passed the point of no return? Do you think Propecia and Rogain would help me get back some of that hair on the crown of my head? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. I've also been seriously thinking about buzzing my hair real short. Do you think that would look better? Thanks.

i can't see the pictures as i think i need to sign up for shutterfly. anyhow, Propecia and rogaine should definintely help you out regardless of your condition, unless you are already norwood 7.

as for those friends of yours that are using propecia, what have their results been?

They've only been on it for about 4 or 5 months. No side effects for them, and they claim it has stopped them from losing what they have. They haven't noticed any regrowth yet.

Blueguy, be sure to fix this picture situation if you can. I want to see what you think of as being beyond the point of no return. I am working on posting my own pictures and I think I am approaching the point of no return.

I would stick with finasteride and nizoral for a while first before adding in Rogain. That way you can see if it helps any.

Geezus christ!!!! You're BALD...BALD....BALD AS A BOWLING BALL!

yeah, you might have a bit of hairloss, and you have started to get thinner hair, but your situation is ideal for Regaine and/or propecia.

Seriously...some people on this board need get their facts right, you, my firend, are not bald. I'd kill to have your hair.....so would other people. Start regaine/propecia now, and you'll be fine. Also remember that the flash on camera's enchances the thinner bits on your head and makes them look even thinner (flash reflects on the scalp)

I am almost 25 and my hair loss is almost identical to yours - same location, similar amount of hair lost.

It's not nearly as bad as you described. When you were talking about "part the point of no return" I was almost expecting you to have three hairs on your head.

Well, sorry to make it sound worse than it actually was. I just got my hair cut last week, and I swear it seems there is less and less hair on my head each time I get it cut.

Like I said, I've only been on Propecia for a little less than 2 months. Do you think I should start Rogain now? It seems that people on this board suggest waiting for the Propecia to start working before starting Rogain.

I do not know if u had reach the point of no return. But u wont know it unless u try. Any person is able to regrow their hairs at any point of their life. Just that the longer the situation, there less chance but it does not mean impossible.

But if u wan grow hair, try adding rogaine is a good choice. But ppl say that it is a lifetime commitment.

I would say you are far from the point of no return. Basically you have a classic thinning crown, but there is lots of hair there although it might not be that noticable to you because it's miniturized. Rogaine does not work well on slick areas, but you clearly have hair on your crown.

I suggest adding rogaine now along with your propecia. Of course, not to sound like a broken record, use nizoral as well. I think you would be a good canidate for these treatments, but start soon.
