Analyzing every one else

I know this has been up before so I guess this is more for the newbies. I have just recently noticed my hairloss, nothing too serious yet although very annoying. I am not quite obsessed yet, but how many of you look at others hairlines/vertex? I notice myself at times looking at everyone's else's hairline to potentially size up my hairloss compared to theirs. They say misery enjoys company so I am sizing up who else may be miserable.

It's funny, I never used to do it until I started reading on this site how OTHERS are checking out guys' hairlines. Now I catch myself doing it all the time.

I just started trying to fight my hairloss, so I'm hoping as it becomes more of a routine, I won't focus so much on my (and other's) hair, and focus more on my life.

Course, I guess I'd have to stop coming here then, too!

Yeah I always check out celebrities. I do some modeling and it kind of makes me feel better when I see a celeb or someone with a receding hairline. I suppose it is kind of mean to hope/wish others have it as well. Nothing is worse then seeing some drunken fat man who is smoking with a full head of hair, or that guy who is a real jerk with a full head of hair. Makes me think what did they do to deserve their hair.

I guess if i lost an eye or somthing id start to notice others so im not alone

I must admit, I am constantly sizing up other guys for diffusion.

I guess its just nice to see I'm not alone,. and to see how other guys appear to be coping with it.

Yea, some people say it takes years for hairloss to become noticable, depending on how you style it. I personally never used to notice people that were losing their hair when I first met them, but now I do look for it. I also think some girls don't notice it if it isn't too bad, or unless you make a big deal about it.

So what have we learned from this thread?
All the balding people are checking each other out, and no one else really notices... :D

Yeah, I find I'm looking at guys' hairlines all the time. It's amazing how many are thining/receding - I'd never noticed it before. It is such an amazing motivation to want to keep one's own hair.

Also been on Propecia about a month to 6 weeks now. A little bit of testicular 'discomfort', maybe watery jizz, maybe lack of wood, no noticeable shedding. So all in all, it's been ok so far.

Hey, I realized that my non-male pattern baldness friend doesn't have much more density than I do really, and that made me happy. That's about it though... I'm guilty of looking at bald guys and being like "Oh man, why do I keep watching these people? Am I THAT worried and vain and self-absorbed and UGH!" It's sad really :( It consumes so much of our lives! Sometimes I'm worried I'll be caught staring at somebody's bald/balding head though. I'm sure they've noticed me before when I'm talking to them head-on, and I can't stop staring at it. Ah well..

I admit I look at people a lot, too. Yesterday I was walking down 5th Avenue thinking this----"upper cuts.....backwards roll.....diffuser......he's got everything......he's got an island.....bridge.....island.....he's got everything.....diffuser.....backwards roll....upper cuts.....he's got everth..no wait, diffuser....spear bald......bridge....diffuser.....maybe that's just a mature line.....spear bald.....he's got everything..."

It's sometimes hard not to make this a habit. And it is very true that no one notices unless they're concious of it.
