another finasteride question? keep it or letting it go for a while?

i have about 1 year 8 months with my treatment, big 3. i started using minoxidil and nizoral without finasteride for about 2 months into it. at 3 third month i added finasteride. my super regrowth accured at my 3 month (just a few weeks after adding finasteride) until 5 month. at that point my hair started looking like crap, it became thinner, massive shedding, and now 1 year and 8 month, of doing the same regimen, is looking like i don't have a future. i have not stop finasteride, but i heard that it might cause big shedding and affect frontal hairloss even more (my frontal is like crap now) maybe finasteride is doing this to me. i'm almost certain that i'll stop from today, (only a few months to see what happens) but is it a good idea?
this is the effect that i have had after starting finasteride..
started shedding and it hasn't stop for 1 1/2 years
frontal, temple and vertex, amazing regrowth (from minoxidil) to looking like shiot
loss libido
no sex drive
hard to get it hard
oily skin

i'm not saying that finasteride is bad, but some of us might have bad side effects,

none of this makes sense to me. Amazing regrowth at 3 months, add finasteride, and then started losing it all with shedding, and you're saying ti never came back?

just like u read it, at 3 month i thought i was cure. i know is hard to believe, but i grew 90% of all my hair, but after 5 month period, i started shedding and my hair become worse and worse, it hasn't gotten better ever since. the regrowth was cause by minoxidil, cause at the time i notice that i have regrow almost all my hair and i only used finasteride for about 2 week. so i think the cost of the shedding has been finasteride

well, from what I know and my experience is that finasteride will not permanently make one lose their hair. It will make hair shed, but only to come back with thicker, better hair. You stuck to your regimen all the way or did you not take finasteride for a month after running out or something like that? 1 year and 8 mos. is a long duration and your predicament sounds really uncommon. It's a bit out of my hands, I'll let someone else take a swing at this one.

i haven't stop my regimen for the entire 1 year and 8 month. i haven't miss any application 2x minoxidil a day and 1.25mg finasteride a day. all i could say, that when i started my regimen i grew almost all my hair back, no shedding and no hairloss (i was able to pull my hair really hard and no hair would come out) but now is hell. everything went down the hill, after the 5 month i haven't look any better, each day is worse. i have try different things, switching minoxidil from regular to DR lee, i thought it was the irritation, so i switch to no pg minoxidil, i tried to double my finasteride dosage, no luck, i have done so many things. my hair is so weak that if i wanted to be bald today, i can easily pull all the hair that i have left without much effort. the only thing i haven't try is stopping finasteride. i will do that and see what happens in 2 to 3 month. if it doesn't do anything i guess, i'll do our last resort, shave my head :cry:

Your situation is not common. I think you should stop taking finasteride for a while and switch to a topical anti-androgen.
