ive been on finasteride 8 months now and idk if its doing anything......my questions are: did anybody on finasteride had more than one shed and then the hair comes back? i ask cause im shedding alot lately but its all long hair very barely any little thin hairs.........and from these photos should i start adding rogaine? and one of the photos is a typical hair wash count. thanks for everyones help

Are you sure you're balding? Looks like you could hack through trees with that hair.

yea :/ it looks thicker than it really is......and i can shake my hair and tons of it falls out its crazy.....and when i shower the same thing. Idk if i should add rogaine before its too late or idk if right now that would be wise.

See, I don't get this...so many people say that male pattern baldness is a very slow process of the hairs regrowing thinner over time and not just shed loads of hair falling out. Doctors say not to look at the hairs falling out but actually how the hair looks on your head.

yea i heard that too......when i shed its not little hairs its long hairs. and its an all day thing and its been happening for almost a year now...im surprised im not bald yet.

hmm i don't know....have you seen a dermatologist or hair surgeon. They'll be able to tell you what's going on. Some people with lots of hair just lose lots of hair but it gets replaced. You need to be checked for miniaturisation.

Have you got much of a receded hairline?

Maybe it's just me but i hate the idea of taking finasteride unnecessarily.

i wish it were true :/.......yea i gone to a dermatologist and a hair restoration expert here in Abilene......but when they saw me all they said is you have alot of hair still so lets get you on propecia which i did but like i said when i first notice i was loosing hair it looked like it was just a little on the temples and that was enough to freak me out. i wish i would of taken pictures but i was clueless at the time. It just crazy how much hair i loose ever since starting finasteride. Thanks for everyone's input i appreciate it.

Is it possible that they were just suggesting it 'incase'? Seem to be a lot of professionals who don't know what they're talking about and just suggest propecia to anyone who MAY lose some hair.


and you're actually losing more hair a day since finasteride??

Yea since starting it I shed crazy amount of hair but people say sheds are good but idk anymore cause it doesn't slow down before finasteride I was hardly losing anything plus the hair that sheds is long and looks healthy.

You still have hair. Just wait to 1 year on finasteride to see the result.
