Antibiotics and Propecia

My derm just prescribed me an antibiotic (keflex) to help clear up a cyst. I asked him whether it would be safe to take with Propecia, and he said there should be no problems. I wanted to confirm that answer here however, since some of you have probably taken them with Propecia (and some people here seem to know more about some things than the doctors I see). Thanks for the help.

I've been taking different antibiotics off and on for several years due to a chronic sinus infection. The Doctor said they was ok to take with finasteride and I've never had a problem.

Propecia is very safe. As far as I know, it doesn't interact with anything, except perhaps other anti-androgens, which may make it more potent.

I've had to take antibiotics 3-4 times in the last few year while on propecia, I always ask to make sure but I'm always told that there is no problem at all.

Propecia doesn't seem to be affected by any other medecine as far as I know.

Believe it or not, I had a root canal the morning of Thanksgiving. Yes, I have a very understanding and devoted endodontist. The pain came on suddenly last Wednesday and was excruciating. I am very thankful for her.

Anyway, she prescribed some antibiotics and I asked about this subject....not because I was worried about the antibiotics affecting the potency of the finasteride, but because I was worried about the finasteride affecting the potency of the antibiotics! If you've ever had dental pain, you will understand where I'm coming from. When you have a tooth nerve dying, the pain is such that you'd just as soon rip it out with pliers to get relief. She said there was no problem with the two taken in combination.

I was taking Broncho-Vaxon which is a vacine for colds, etc... I always took it in Autumn but i wont take it anymore. It made my hair thinner.
