Any Benefit from upping finasteride dosage from 1 to 5 mg?

Hey guys, I've been using 1 mg finasteride for almost 3 years. My hair is starting to shed like crazy right now and the texture has definetely changed in the last couple of months (it's gotten more curly and unruly like before I started using finasteride). I think dht is attacking my hair again. Would there be any benefit to up the dosage to 5 mg? thanks

A 20% increase in regrowth by 6 months. But some studies indicate they may be equal after a year. Others indicate 5mg might have a higher side effect profile than 1mg.
