Hey, I'm looking for a topical finasteride which includes minoxidil 5% or even 10%, 15%..

I've seen a few that contains 0.1% finas such as the Polaris products or stuff like DualGen or Morr F 5% but havent really seen good reviews and there's one I cant recall the name but it's from a chinese doctor i think but it requires a prescription...

I dont wanna take the pill...

Any of you is using one that is decent or has worked for you?

You can buy finasteride pills for less than $0.10 per 1mg per day on certain online pharmacies. I believe the topical shampoos ought to work if they contain the real medication, but they are expensive and hard to find relative to the pill form of the drug.

Personally, crushing the pills in a mortar and pestle and adding them to my shampoo so that I receive 0.125mg of the finasteride per pump definitely gives me the finasteride "head rush" so I know it's hitting my bloodstream, just lathered in and then rinsed out immediately. Of course, I am a NW1 so I'm not desperate enough to castrate my DHT levels like some here.

There are studies on finasteride topicals, but not on shampoos. I find the shampoo to be a much more intriguing concept because it ought to come with less chance of oversaturation and side effects, and should provide more of a localized effect in theory.

Good luck.

Hoping more will reply to this thread. I have a prescription from my Doctor for a foam he has custom-made with .05% Finasteride, 5% Minoxidil, .01% Tretinoin, and .005% Latanoprost.

My concern is that .05% is only 1/5th of what studies showed as effective for topical application. I use this foam mixture once daily at night and use the shampoo and conditioner my doctor makes, as well, which is supposed to have the proper pH balance. Also, the Latanoprost is insanely lower than what studies have shown useful, so much so that it seems pointless.

*** I'm looking for a topical that has .25% Finasteride since that's what studies have shown as effective (if not that, then at least more than .05%). Anyone know of any? ***

I've been using this for three months now and my hairline is still receding... not super-fast, but definitely enough for me to notice over the three-month time period, perhaps only on one temple in that time period, though. My hairline recession first started about 18 months ago and is a II on the Norwood scale (i.e., just temples going back, although I think the front center has gone back just the slightest, slightest bit). I used 5% minoxidil and the vitamins mentioned below for about 15 months and then quit with minoxidil and switched to the foam that includes it and the other things mentioned above about three months ago.

My Other Treatments:
I've been using Nizoral once per week or so, but I've decided to switch to MWF on that. I also take 1500mg Saw Palmetto Extract (750mg twice daily), an aminoplex repair vitamin from my Doctor's line (http://bit.ly/arf100ct), a multiplex defense vitamin from my Doctor's line (http://bit.ly/mdf100ct), and half the recommended dose of a general multi-vitamin: http://a.co/5LtaenT
- I also use a laser cap 2-3 times per week and I've done four PRP treatments to date (planning on doing one every six months or so).

PS - I don't see how to post a new thread. I saw it at one point, but it's disappeared again. Been a member for a while and responded here and there... I should be able to post.

there is not that many topical finasteride options.... Genhair used to sell their 0.25% version of finasteride, but they are defunct. Their topical finasteride defo worked.

You can get topical finasteride with minoxidil form minoxidilmax, but they sell it in very strong concentrations of minoxidil (15%) and that is too much.
They have a 0,05% version of finasteride in 6% minoxidil topical solution.

Then there was that Swiss company being in the last stage of clinical studies for their topical finasteride solution, but went quiet. Tbh, do not even understand what there were trialing, a drug that has been available past 20 years, which they dissolved in some vehicle ?

There is also something called Mofr 5%, which contains 5% minoxidil + finasteride, not sure about concentration and even the name of the topical.

Once, I could not get my hand on Genhair finasteride, I went oral and cannot complain, more convenient and same effect. What I also do is enhancing my minoxidil (Lipogaine) with azelaic acid (50 mg in each 1ml of finasteride), few drops of saw palmetto and 2.5 mg of finasteride (half a 5mg pill; 0,250 mg of finasteride in each 1ml of minoxidil).
I make a bach for 10 applications (5 days)....

Thank you so much for the info, hwezdarik! I suppose I'll keep trying to get my Doctor to make me a custom prescription with .25% or as close to that as he's willing to do. I've also ordered the S5 Plus Creme.

I suppose I may give the oral a shot. I'd like to get some blood work done first so I know where I'm at now.

Thanks again.

Maybe you should try the S 5 cream sold in this site if you want a topical.

any proof it does anything lol

Would say this, make sure if you order in the U.S., your country won't be intercepted by customs.

If it is, you're screwed. You won't get a refund (doubt, very much).

That said, medicalwellnesscenter will only charge you if you get a script. You still have to order
from the U.S. Murray, their pharmacist, has good tubes, and not so good ones (much smaller). They claim
they will go back to standard tube size in May, because of back orders??

For me, I'm getting topical Finasteride from Promox. I just got my script approved (will know tomorrow). And then,
I will order 117 milligrams.

So, I don't know if I can honestly recommend Promox, until I try it of course.
