What's your experience with this brand? Some people claim the generics don't work as good. This is strange because they all have the same active ingredient "Dutasteride".

kir, my first batch ever of the drug was 30 capsules of Dr. Reddy's Dutasteride, basically a one month supply. I checked if it was real, and it was.

I've tried different generics before, even genuine Avodart, and there is absolutely no difference in effectiveness, they're all the same. I don't believe the claims of generics not working as good, unless if some sort of quality issue occurred. But other than that it's complete nonsense. It doesn't matter where the drug is coming from as long as it's from a clean trusted source and that it's legitimate Dutasteride, either brand will help maintain hair equally.

This was encouraging. Just ordered a supply of Dutagen because I've used Ranbaxy drugs in the past. I'll keep you updated.

If you do an internet search you will see the FDA has shut down some of Dr. Reddy's plants in the recent past, that is why the concern. i would not trust them from what i read.

Bad news guys. My bank won't process the payments or make out a bank draft to these online pharmacies :(
I have bitcoin but the bitcoin pharmacies are selling the generics almost the same as I would pay for the brand Avodart. I've decided the best way for me to save money is take Avodart x5 a week. Maybe after Uni and I have a job I'll switch back to ED. Will keep you updated!

UPDATE:
Got my generics today from ADC. My bank didn't allow the prepaid VISA on their site or write me a bank draft so I paid via online wire transfer.
I got the Dr.Reddy's version. I'm now paying 33USD/month VS 68USD(Brand Avodart). I've also switched to kirkland minoxidil (got this on ebay) form Lipogaine. I do hope these two work the same as the brand products. Will keep you updated.

UPDATE:
DR.Reddy Dutas = sh*t.
Almost two months into generic Avodart, I recently started to shed like crazy(20+ hairs as oppose to maybe one in the shower). I also started feeling more energetic and could push more reps at the gym. Dr.Reddy Dutas has to be fake (not the brand but the source)or contains 0.0001mg of the active ingredient.
Yesterday I filled my prescription for the real Avodart at my local pharmacy and to my surprise, awoke with balls ache which is exactly what happened the first time I took Avodart. Beware of these online pharmacies!

I'm taking the real Avodart EOD as this would be more than enough for hairloss since the approved dosage is 0.1mg (Zagallo)

I can't afford a DHT blood test atm but I can assure you my experience was not phycological.

Was it hard to get a prescription for dutasteride? My Doctor will prescribe finasteride but that's it. Where are you from?

Good luck !

If you live in the UK, it's a lot easier to get hairloss meds.

You should send me your remaining dutas pills! :D

And if you're stronger at the gym it would mean your free testosterone increased, which would be a normal side effect of taking dutasteride. Same thing happened to me.

I've used the same pills and I think for the most part they work. My hair seemed to hold while also experiencing ed problems. Just ordered more actually.

It shouldn't matter? My bf is starting with Avodart as that's what the chemist gave.
Emily, how old is your bf? Is he thinking about having kids in the future? If so, there has been a case where a guy became infertile from taking Avodart for hair loss. Remember, this drug was mostly for men who had prostate issues and most likely were past the age to want to father children. Honestly, if your boyfriend's hair loss is similar to the guys you posted( or that was him in the photos), he would be fine starting with Propecia first and then see how he does. I was on Propecia for 10 years and when I added Advodart only once per week, I got some side effects eventually that made me stop. I was losing more hair at the front and I had a hard time keeping my weight off and started getting gyno.

After stopping taking dutasteride, did the hair lost at the front come back? I also lost hair at the front when switched to dutasteride (brand avodart, not generics).

I used the name brand too. It only recently has improved when I went back using rogaine foam every other day. Same with the crown area.

So it look 11 months for my free testosterone to increase? seems pretty logical...

Why do you think Dr.Reddy dutas is not an FDA approved generic? I'm pretty sure because it's bioavailability, dosage etc is not the same as Avodart.

Have you tried the real Avodart? It not, try the legit stuff for 2-3 months and see how it goes.
