Any Long Term Success Stories For Ppl Who Started Balding Younger?

Hey I’m 17 & started balding around 15. I’ve hopped on finasteride 6 months ago w no results yet and minoxidil just the other day.

I just saw Stachu’s post and how the big 3 failed for him & he started balding young aswell. My balding looks even more aggressive than that which scares me, so I was just curious to see if anyone here started balding young w very aggressive hairloss (norwood 6 diffuse pattern + recession) and was able to keep their hair for about 10-15 years.

I wanna know that there’s some hope atleast

If you are balding severely at a younger age, the big three most likely will not work... I don't have much faith for 5AR inhibitors when it comes to those who bald within their teen years.

From what I understand, it's one of things that it's always best to keep it up for at least a year. Have you tried combining the two for a period (the Fina to lower the DHT levels and the Mino to encourage growth)? The way I see it, the worst case is nothing happens (and you're exactly where you'd be otherwise), the best case is you see some results, so it's better to at least give it a try. This sort of thing is really unpleasant to experience, but I think it's important to keep trying. I'm really rooting for you!!

It's too bad that finasteride drops dht so significantly. Just imagine being able to tweak how much your dht drops?! For example, if I could take a quarter of pill and it would drop my dht by 10% on a regular basis, that would be great, because that would still slow down the balding. But unfortunately it doesnt work like that. Small doses put a blockade to the alpha reductase enzyme close to what a full dose does.

I started balding at 17 prob 16 but i didnt noticed that time, was on big 3 combo since 20 years old. Back then minoxidil.only (18-20yrs) I am 23.and shaved my head last week. Too agressive, still thinking about dutasteride tho...
