Any opinions on taking finasteride every three days

Doctors seem to have varying opinions on the frequency of finasteride doses. Anyone had any experience taking finasteride (1.25 mg) every three days? I'm aware some docs will prescribe every other days, but I am starting off with every three days for now to reduce the change of side effects and initial shedding. I have no bald spots. I have some thinning on the crown and the bilateral.

doesn't a single mg suppress DHT for several days? if so then every 3 days should be OK

It doesnt work that way! It's a dose dependent drug. If you take every 3 days your DHT levels will fluctuate.

I believe that it takes up to a week for DHT levels to come back to normal. Although the drug is gone within half a day of taking it, the body requires more time to reproduce the appropriate *whatevers* to get DHT back on track.

People speculate that taking it every other day is good enough because of that reason, but I am unsure.

I think the recommended 1mg is a compromise between minimum dosage and side effects, but then again it would be recommended to take it each day by if there was no issues doing so... Merck make double the money that way.
