Almost 28 years old, thought my hairline looked bad randomly this morning and have been worrying ever since.

What’s the verdict?

Apparently yes, there are early signs of balding, but in order to evaluate properly i believe it would be better to take complete side pics, front and aiming to the top of ur head. All the pics with a wet hair and brushed back imo would be better.

Either way u still have very good hair density and small temples so u r fine

In my opnion yes, but VERY early bro
U dont even seem to have thinning going on ur temples, which is a very good sign

The hair doesnt fall out over night and stops growing
It falls out, then grows a bit thinner, then falls again etc and so on
If u start balding/receeding u will notice

As for difuse thinning, theres no sign of it and hoenstly that is probsbly the worse balding pattern

Do u watch DBZ? Vegeta has big receeding temples and hes a badass, but only cuz he has thick hair on top lol

Maybe start finasteride to slow things down.. or even the big 3 to make sure if u want

But i believe it is better to wait for some other ezperienced members to post here their opnion

I think you're good dude. Being 28 you've gotten that far with it so its probably not at all aggressive.

A large amount of people on this forum will tell you you're balding but thats quite clearly your natural hairline and level of density - some people here think unless you have horse hair and a dead straight hairline then you're balding. Keep an eye on it though . Maybe take the same pictures close up in 6 months for comparison.

yeah agreed although id lean towards it being 'matured' to an extent. OP, the thing is, over 70% of men have the male pattern baldness gene. Any person that experiences some form of hairloss through the function of miniaturisation has the gene, whether it be a gary oldman with a rock solid mature hairline or a full blown bald guy. So in answering your question with complete objectivity, yes you have likely lost some hair at the hairline corners however as far as balding goes (as in destined to be a shinehead) I do not think you are given you are 28 and a norwood 2 with decent density.

In the second set of pictures I can perhaps see you might be thinning in the middle front of your hairline although that could easily be an illusion given it looks thick in every other pic. If that were the case then yes you should be alarmed so my advice is to monitor your hair for a year. If you feel it is progressing then you can consider finasteride or other treatments.

Early male pattern baldness you are a Norwood 2. Since you are 28 it doesn't seem that aggressive. You could choose to treat it and hopefully stop further loss with finasteride, its not guaranteed to work but its your best bet right now.

Few more pics, what do you think? Hoping I can calm down and just wait for 6 month to retake a few more.

Once again thanks everyone for the help. Confused on whether I should consider a treatment or not, thinking atleast ketonkonazole shampoo but wondering if I should go ahead and add minoxidil and s5 cream. Would prefer to avoid orals

Also family history wise there is really no balding in my family, although looking at a picture of my grandpa in his 60s he was Norwood 3 or 4

I was looking through some old pictures and think I’ve been around the same hairline for a few years... attached is a picture of me at 22ish. Does this make anyone lean more to it being a “matured” hairline?

I think you matured into that hairline and have kept it ever since then! Remember there are people who recede and stop for long periods of time, but eventually the ball gets rolling again. Looks like you may have some slight thinning but in terms of recession it seems very slow! And nice gainz dood

From the looks of it, you've experienced uniformed recession to the hairline; which is good thing.

If it had a "chewed look" that was inconsistent to the middle line, you would then have trouble on your hands.

Chewed look? and what trouble would that be? lol

Thanks again for help everyone! I’ve decided to just go to a dermatologist who’s well credentialed and experienced in hairloss to look for miniaturization and give me an idea on how stable my recession is, if he says it’s progressive then I’m going to get a Propecia prescription. If not currently progressive I’ll just take pics every 3-4 months and start when I need to.

Have a feeling I just have a slow form of hair loss like my grandpa...

By the way is there active miniaturization up at the very top of my hairline? If so then definitely starting Propecia
