Any young bald guys overcome it with treatments?

We went over this already. I gave all the treatments the recomended time to see results, and in case of Minoxidil I gave it a few chances. While it may or may not of slowed my hair loss will be unknown, but I can say for a fact that I had less hair when I quit the FDA approved treatments than I did when I started.

Did you have an aggressive case of male pattern baldness??
How much hair do you currently have now?

I would say it is very aggressive, but most people whos male pattern baldness kicks in early in life typically have more rapid hair loss. The thing is though that I started treatments within a few months of first noticing my hair loss, so I figured it would be smooth sailing.

At the moment I have diffuse thinning in all the male pattern baldness areas, with the crown being the worst off. The funny thing is that my temples held out longer than I exspected them to, but even while on the treatments they would continue to thin. As time goes on though I can tell that my hair is thinning out more and more, so I figure I have another 1-2 years before I would be considered bald.

Hi, I'm 22 years old and have noticed my thinning about 12 months ago.
I started on 1/5 proscar about 8 months ago. What can I say - I've lost most of my remaining hair in the meantime - I'm basically a NW6 now... (i do have some hair left in the horseshoe, but very thin & colorless)! Even shaved down, the horseshoe is obvious, the worst thing is, it doesn't even stop there... I've started thinning further back, in a NW7 pattern!!!

I really don't know if proscar has accelerated the loss or if my case of male pattern baldness is that aggressive? Has anyone ever heard of someone loosing his hair that fast? Anyway, I'm gonna drop the finasteride in 1-2 months... keeping it at the moment for a last glimmer of hope, to bring me over the winter.

Needless to say, this is devastating.

Damn,

I feel for ya man. As far as the horse shoe still being obvious when shaved, I'm thinking that maybe if you bleached that area it might not show. Just a thought. I don't know what to say about all the shedding I have heard about recently. I do know that finasteride. does not cause me to shed, but min. does. I gave up on any and all min. products. I stick with the dht blockers and have just recently started copper peptide spray. Good luck. Read some of my posts about my buddy who shaved his head and grew a gotee. The look suits him well and he gets more romantic attention from women now than he did with hair. Says he should have shaved it years ago.

Lightening bald, i feel for you man. I thought i was an aggressive balder but i'm only a Norwood 2 right now and its been a year. I've never heard of a case as aggressive as yours. It's unbelieveable that even after taking proscar you weren't able to at least slow it down a little bit. By the time i'm 22 i'll probably be in the same shoes as you though.
I guess all we can hope for is that we look ok with a shaved head.

I wish i could grow a gotee, I would give it a try at shaving my head if I could. I am 22 and all i can grow is patches of hair on my face. What a bunch of crap.

GEESH, that sucks. The only thing holding me back from doing a wicked cycle of anabolics is the concern that it will worsen my hairloss. If I were to the point of shaving my head, I would do it and hit the anabolics hard. That would increase my musculature to an awesome degree which would more than make up for a lack of head hair. And.................................it would increase my body and facial hair.<hint

Damn I am glad someone else is in the same boat. I guess I am kind of lucky in that my hair loss is diffuse and when I have my hair cut short you have a hard time saying it's male pattern baldness, like Matt Lauer's hair. I couldn't grow a full beard if I wanted too either. I can grow a scraggly gotee and mustache, but it does not get really thick like say Dave Navarro. Before I started losing my hair I thought of this as a good thing because I never really had to shave. Now that I actually want some facial hair it sucks, we just can't win.
