Sounds like it could be the prostate playing up. I'd get it checked out if I were you. You might even be able to get Propecia on the NHS/insurance!

I highly doubt your prostate is the problem infact i'm almost postive. 24 Year old male w/ BPH?( benign prostate hypertropy) never heard of it. Urinary retention can be due to several causes and it probablly is a good idea to have it checked out. But if its up to me I'd put my money on prostatic hypoplaisa due to propecia. Propecia decreases the prostate size (which is good on old men) but in a younger person you make your prostate a little too small. This will also prevent you from completely emptying your baldder becuase you are unable to completely push your urine out.

I would try to cut the dose of propecia.

Actually - although enlarged prostates ARE more common for the over 40 set - they can rear up (no pun intended) in younger men - especially if you're a large coffee and cola consumer. The crud in coffee and colas wraps around your prostate and enlarges it - making you feel the need to pee more often.

How do I know? I actually had this problem in my late 20s - but wasn't diagnosed w/ an enlarged prostate for many, many, years - because the doctors all felt I was too young to warrant a prostate exam.

I've since switched from coffee to green tea - and only slug down those cokes occassionally now.

Bend over and bite the bullet my friend.

First of all BPH can occur in slighly younger people (30s) but i was unable to find any statistics on people in their 20s. If you have a source send it my way. Secondly I was unable to find anything having to do w/ Coke correlation w/ BPH. Do u have a study or something that shows this. The studies correlate BPH w/ 2 factors Age and DHT.

BPH in a person in their 20s is rare (if at all possible) on top of it he is taking Propecia (5 A reductase inhibitor).. so what is the likelyhood of BPH?

I think you get my drift..

I can't point you toward any studies - but I can point you toward my urologist who is the one that informed me of all this for all those months "I" was getting a prostate massage (you know everyone out in the waiting room could hear me screaming .

I can't point you toward any studies - but I can refer you back to my original response - which is a personal bona-fide experience. Rare - perhaps and granted - but in my case true.

no, but I have noted intense yellow piss, the same effect I have seen when I was on PRO-CE-RIN.

Damn, I don't know why the word PRO-CE-RIN is banned so badly from this forum, after all it is just saw palmetto and lots of guys here take it daily, there must be some personal problems with the owners here.

There are lots of products that are supposed to be scam, and none of them have their names banned.

Yellow pee usually just means you're dehydrated. Drink more ;)

Seriously? I always figured it was just the caffeine...

No - the doctor went out of his way to say that it wasn't the caffeine.

Did you ever leave an empty, unrinsed coffee cup sitting on the counter, and then some time later notice the hard brown crusty buildup that dries at the bottom of the cup?

That's the residue from the cocoa bean - the same bean used in colas like cokes and pepsis.

That's the crap that wraps around your prostate.

Caffeine and tea and non-cola drinks are fine - it's the coffee (even de-caf) and the the cola-like drinks that are bad for your prostate - especially if you're an avid coffee / coke drinker like I was.
