I'm wondering if any of you have had success with just Nizoral and Minoxidil.

I am a 26 year old guy with hair loss across the crown and vertex. My hairline has receded a bit, but mainly it's that my hair is just thin all over the top. I started Propecia about 6 months ago, but noticed some of the worse side effects almost immediately (breast pain and sensitivity, ball pain, semen volume). So I stopped after a month.

I want to use the other Big 2 though - I'm thinking this summer I will use Rogaine twice daily and Nizoral a few times a week. Has anyone had success with just these Big 2? Any other suggestions?

Have you thought about trying a lower dose of dutasteride? It is a DHT blocker as well, but people with Propecia sides have taken Dutas w/o experiencing any sides.

As far as "the big 2"...I'm not really sure. If you're losing your hair due to DHT, then I think the most that you can hope for with those 2 is to slow down the loss a bit.

Yeah, if your hair loss is not too aggressive there is a good chance min and nizoral will help you a lot.

minoxidil will stimulate growth and nizoral is a mild anti-androgen.

I have been using both for like 2 years now and I've maintained and maybe regrew a little bit.

Just don't expect miracles.

I've been doing good with just minoxidil for about a year and a half--though I added Nizoral recently. However, my hair loss is more aggressive than yours as I'm only 20.

Also, why wait until "this summer"? Do it now!!! The worst thing you can do is put off doing something about hairloss.

worth a shot bro. i normally answer all these threads with a 'get on fincar and forget about it' type answer but if you did get severe sides that quick then its understandable. go for it.

i will say that you put this in pretty much the worst forum possible to get an answer from though... lol

take care brother

Thanks guys for the advice! Yeah, I'm going to get started now on this regimen instead of waiting for the summer. Hopefully I'll have a success story to share on this forum.

I used nizoral alone for a while that did really stop alot of the shedding which was really suprising, started minoxidil recently so had abit of a shed at the front.

Can I ask you have all the sides gone since stopping finasteride?
