Eg PrettyScale or Uglymetre ect. How accurate do you think they are? What score did you get?
I was bored the other day and tested two of the most popular apps - Prettyscale and GodenRatio analisis.

Ok, so I took several pictures and got various results between 71% and 83% on Prettyscale which is I am happy with I guess. But that's one of the problems - using different pictures seemed to get very different results. Even a slight difference in the distance your face is from the camera or even if you're smiling or not can produce quite a different score. Prettyscale also seems to contradict itself; on one picture it told me I had great symmetry and normal forehead but on another it told me I had bad symmetry and a small forehead! GoldenRatio seems to be slightly more consistent but ther's still a noticeable difference (between 77% & 85%).

Next I uploaded a picture of someone who I personally think is close to perfection - the actress Ana De Armas. She got 54%!!! Not only that but PrettyScale completely annihilates her; telling us about her "small forehead", "chin too small" and "wide interocular distance". Ouch! Here she is below.

I know these apps are based on symmetry and the "Golden ratio" which (as a lot of you guys will know) is one of the most important factors in defining attractiveness/beauty. However in my opinion (and despite getting pleasing scores) they are bs and potentially dangerous, especially for insecure young people/teenagers. What I find disgraceful about Prettyscale in particular is that it highlights the things that are apparently wrong with your face in bold! This is mean spirited and as I said potentially dangerous. There are also important things the apps don't take into consideration such as how attractive your eyes are and of course your hair.

In my opinion, the 'golden ratio' is a crock of sh*t. There are insanely attractive men and women, such as Manu Rios or Rosie Huntington Whiteley, who do not fit into the golden ratio yet are some of the most beautiful humans to exist.

Apparently Angelina Jolie doesn't fit the golden ratio or have particularly great symmetry. It's by no means an exact science............

When I had my app, which I developed specifically for customers to buy my goods online, I decided that I needed to constantly work on improving it. It's good that I found extra fee plugin, which I bought and installed with the help of Amasty specialists. All in all, plugins and extensions are a great way to improve your site or app.

The problem isn't the golden ratio - it's the model they use. How you use the ratio can create totally different models. That is also why different types of faces can be found just as attractive as the other. It's very, very complex and we have only a minute understanding.
