Anyone used topical mixture of finastride and minoxidil?

Anyone used this successfully?
I seen a few brands now selling this, I'm just wondering is it as effective as the pill?

DoctorHouse is using proxiphen which i believe contains both minoxidil and finasteride topically.

Long story short, I was on oral finasteride for the guts of 20 years and last summer was thinking of quitting but decided to try topical finasteride and I endured horrendous sides which saw me on a journey seeing my GP many times, getting brain MRI, muscle wastage, and more

About 90% recovered but topical finasteride was lethal for me, I would add though absolutely amazing for my hair.

I am now completely off finasteride just about a year, the drug should come with the big warnings like you see on cigarette packs

For 90% of the time I used minoxidil as the vehicle for my topical finasteride and remaining time Trinov.

And being off it one year made me realise that even on oral Finasteride I had sides that I was unaware aware of, I had been on it for practically my whole adult life.
And after what the topical version did to me it made me realise in my opinion the drug is poison.


And I certainly don't believe it should be prescribed by doctors for cosmetic reasons

Semen quality
Penal sensitivity increased
Mood and my sleep, spent most of my life adult life accepting I just had bad sleep pattern, completely improved when off the drug.

Also bloating, my face is lot trimmer and I look fitter.

And after the horrendous sides I then got on topical finasteride, if anyone ever asked me now about finasteride, I would tell them to stay away.

I took 0.75mg quantity of finasteride per dose per night in my minoxidil

That is a low dose and I got horrible sides

I would add I was getting incredible results, never really got great results on oral but on topical finasteride my hair was thickening so much and my sparse crown filling in

@irishdub I would agree with you regarding the effects ofboral finasteride, bloated face, willy very small when flaccid.. but I'll tell you, it kept my hair on my head and that alone was cause for celebration because the alternative would have been baldness - I found that lots of cardio excersize and a low calorie diet helped with sides. Can I ask you a question Sir, oral Propecia is not working for me now after 6 years, I have tried oral Avodart for a week and getting very good initial results. Can I ask you : what is your daily medication routine now? And if you don't mind me asking what is your age? I am 48 and now taking 1x Avodart once a week with 2 X Propecia every 12 hours for 6 days + Regaine foam Every 12 hours. Thanks in advance (Propecia not working but afraid to come off it just in case)

After about 10 years, I tried avodart as an add on, just once a week and then actually everyday in replacement of finasteride but didn't really see much difference. I got my avodart on holidays in Spain easy in the chemist but when ran out my Irish Doctor back home would only prescribe finasteride, so went back on that. Avodart gave no real difference

I am 42 and would never take finasteride or avodart again, I take nothing that could alter androgens, my body is very sensitive now, had to even come off weak anti androgen Trinov.

Along with muscle wastage on topical finasteride I also got gyno, shrunk penis and shrunk balls, weight gain, joint pain, fatigue, just not worth it for more hair on my head.

Gyno is mostly recovered but not all, thankfully balls & dick fully recovered. Still some joint pain. And muscle 90%

As for my body muscle, still cannot get all my forearm muscle to return, my wrists are thin and neck muscle still not fully recovered, the rest has, muscle wastage was all over body, legs too.

Now my routine is just rogaine, derma rolling and head massage but of course lost ground in last year quitting finasteride


Oh and I mentioned this in a previous post, topical Finasteride for me in terms of hair was far far superior than oral but as you can see the sides it gave made it impossible to continue and I used relatively low dose

That's very informative - thank you. I would agree with everything you are saying in relation to your sides. Ive got the same issues. Ive lost the crown totally but holding on to the front - it seems a lot of pain for the trade off ... No problem if not, do you have any pics of your crown regrowth during your topical finasteride period?
Hope Dublin is ok, heard you can't have a sit down cup of coffee without "showing your papers"

I am from London and been buying my mixture from America Murray Avenue Apothecary compound pharmacy, you can customise the formula and they ship to most countries.

My lotion i customised contains:

15% minoxidil
0.1% finasteride
5% azelaic Acid
0.25% progesterone
0.025% tretinoin
0.1% hydrocortisone.

Yes I been using the same mixture from different compound pharmacies since 2010, I currently buy from the above compound pharmacy Murray Avenue Apothecary.

Did you ever try a lower dose? I was on 1mg daily for 12 years, dropped to 0.5mg four months ago, and I noticed a significant improvement in my sex drive and mental clarity. I feel great. My dick is still small though but that's not finasteride's fault

What results did you get i.e Temple regrowth, diffusion coverage estimated % etc?

Hasson and Wong had a Topical, then they pulled it. Noteworthy.
