I would be inclined to agree with Sam, but saying that, just about every picture taken of me during the summer makes it look as if I have no signs of hairloss, but when you look at recent up close pictures of my hair you can see how badly my hair has thinned. Pictures can be deceiving.

5.5 Month Update

Aplunk1_61_m.jpg

My website is here: http://www.hairlosshelp.com/websites/aplunk1/

It has detailed galleries, journal entries, and incites about my hair loss regimen.

Well... It's been 5.5 months, and looking at these pictures makes me feel a bit better. Although, it might be difficult to distinguish, my hair is much darker, and it's thickening up... It's still pretty thin, and noticeably balding under any sunlight... But I'm going to try to let it grow out this time...

I hope this provides evidence that genuine Avodart works-- although, I will be switching to Dutas (I'm jobless and poor. I'm hoping they work)

I might add- I had no clue how popular my website became...

Nearly 7000 hits since December. Probably a lot are from me, but still.... That's a lot.

In further update-- my head has been itching like crazy for the past month... I don't know why... I've been taking two showers a day, using Nizoral and TGel as often as possible to destroy the itch.

I also use Revitalize shampoo every once in a while. It conditions the hair well.

My hair was originally much shorter- I had it cut in Brookyln by a street barber... When cutting my hair, he took a wire brush and brushed off what looked like a pound of Propylene Glycol-- It was so f*****g embarassing. And with that, he took out a shitload of scalp hair, too... But I'm glad I got all those minoxidil flakes off. I use the PPG formula now, which leaves no residue.

I'm excited to see my hair results in a few months... and perhaps optimize within the next year.

Dude WTF...you have like a fully intact hairline...like IDENTICAL TO MINE...but I got diffuse balding, and I've been told I got a "perfect hairline"...are you seriously sure you are balding?

This is the ACTUAL 5.5-Month Update...

I just counted my Avodart pills and have about 17/18 (half a month) left...

I've been having SLIGHT shedding lately-- about 5-10 hairs daily...

This is probably due to the fact that I've run out of copper peptides and no longer use natural supplements (funds are extremely low).

In addition, this is a blurry webcam-- things are looking better, but there is still some diffuse thinning-- mostly around the crown and in the Top of the scalp...

A lot of people would lose 5-10 hairs on a windy day. I honestly wouldn't call that hair loss. If I lost that amount, i'd be a happy camper.

I think you should grow it out longer. You've got pretty much no hairloss and it would look good longer.

Above your right temple is filling in niceley, even in the 3 weeks since the Apr. 25 pic.

You mentioned your head is itchy..do you scratch your head? Back when i wasn't doing anything for my hair loss and had a bald spot near the front, i wouldn't scratch my hair, and i'd pat my head with a towel after a shower. I was afraid of losing any hair.

Now i scratch with with reckless abandom. If i lose a hair or two i don't care..it's just a hair or two..and they will grow back. Since you were concerend with losing 5-10 hairs a day i thought u might be afraid to scratch your head and lose hairs as a result. I don't know if scratching your head is good for regrowing hair but i figure it can't be bad in the long run and it does make your head feel better. Just don't over-do it or you'll wind up with a little scabbing like i do sometimes!

Uni,
thanks very much for your input. I'll probably grow it out this summer.

Trash,
thanks!

Follicly Challenged,
I've noticed most of the regrowth in my LEFT temple, although I've had some regrowth around the right temple. My hairline has about .5 cm of new growth around there. Although the regrowth is pretty thin, it's getting thicker. There's a lot of new vellous growth aroudn the hairline, too. I don't scratch my head often-- sometimes in the NW7 area... I try not to; it's a bad habit.

When I can afford it, I'm going to try Folligen.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

I somehow think that Male-Pattern Baldness has an auto-immune response...

I think that scratching the thinning-infected area will increase inflammation.

I'd rather suffer than risk more hairloss :)

Hey Aplunk

I have a couple of questions regarding your regime. I have just started using Tricomin spray. I am curious as to how much you apply and how often you applyit. Also do you take L Arginine to help with hair growth or as a means to avoid sexual side effects?

I no longer use Tricomin Follicle Therapy Spray... but when I did use it, I applied it twice daily... usually about 10 minutes after an application of Rogaine... At least 10 sprays-- apply liberally.

L-Arginine is a supplement that supports protein synthesis. As we all know, hair consists of protein. I took it mostly for the extra "oomph" for my libido, but it supposedly has some hair regrowth properties.

I cannot comment on L-Arginine much because I don't know its benefits of hair regrowth very much... I can certainly tell you that it will make your desire to have sex go through the roof. :)

6 Month update on Dutasteride:

SHEDDING AND RECESSION

Yup, it's true.

I've been shedding about 10-30+ hairs daily, mostly from the hairline. I get all types, wispy, thin hairs, and strong, thick hairs.

Here is a picture showing the recession:

308580.jpg

The left side looks completely great, but the island formation is starting to happen.

This is very depressing.

I lost about 5 hairs just pulling my hair up out of this.

I can tell that this is thinning.

The right side of my hairline must not be responding to the treatment.

God, this is so f*****g depressing.

There is a Norwood 3 outline beginning to show.

Man, I'm only 20 years old, and already fast becoming a Norwood 3.

I nearly had a breakdown tonight... pulling hair after hair out of my hairline.

It's so ugly.

My hairloss is unsightly.

This is really getting to me.

Just ran my hands through my hair-- ANOTHER 40 hairs.

It is looking so incredibly thin.
