Applying Minoxidil Foam Without Getting Your Hair Messed Up

Hello, guys!

Been here with you for quite a while. I have been on finasteride for several month, didnt see much results and decided to facilitate it with one time per day application of Rogaine foam (in the evening). Also I am using Lipogaine shampoo a couple every week. I think this regimen made my hair a little better.

Anyways, I am thinking of applying rogaine foam twice a day by adding a morning application. I have tried it before and usually it messes up my hair making it sloppy and glued. Do any of you guys know how to apply foam and keep it unnoticeable? Maybe a hairdryer can help? Or should I keep my hair cut short?

Hope you all are getting your hair better each day!

Peace!

It's impossible to apply minoxidil to crown without making it look horribly thin. I tried it (foam, although I think that liquid is even worse) and have since ditched the foam and started using the stuff orally.

Some people like to melt the foam in the cap (by partially submerging the cap in hot water) and apply the resultant liquid via a medicine dropper. That would help you avoid having to make various parts in your hair to apply the foam, although you're probably going to be stuck with the "glued" look no matter what once it dries.

Thanks for the replies guys!

nate30, did you try it by yourself? I think that is an interesting approach, I will take a try tomorrow and let you know how it works

rogerackroyd, do you mean you use minoxidil orally? or have you switched to other medications like finasteride?

I've never perfected it but the guy that does my hair uses mousse when he's styling it. If you used some sort of product in addition to the minoxidil foam, it may look less noticeable(as well as using a hair dryer). I think the contrast with normal hair is what makes it so noticeable. He also said the mousse ends up making the follicles larger.

I use minoxidil orally and also dutasteride. Oral minoxidil has grown hair almost everywhere else (eyelashes, back of my hands, fingers) but I'm not sure if it has grown any on my head. :D Then again I've only been using it for 6 months.
