Applying Regaine

Can someone tell me how exactly to apply regaine? In the sense that I assumed I'd put it all over the parts of my head where it's likely to bald, whereas reading around it seems you just put it on the bits that are actually thinning? Although I'm losing hairs from my scalp I don't think it looks like it's thinning too much yet. Should I start with the rogaine on this area anyway, as it might take a long time to work? Or should I just put it on the front bits where it's thinning? Thing is that the bits at the front are thinning so quickly that I highly doubt regaine would work in time anyway!

When I get some I'd probably put it all over the front, top and scalp of my head but I wanted to get a feedback just in case that's a really bad idea for whatever reason

Well the more you put on the more chance of sides I would imagine. I put minoxidil on my whole "problem area" the first time and gave up because of sides. For me the difference between a 1 inch and 1.5 inch squared area of application can be the difference between sides or not. It tells you to apply it to the areas that are thinning. If you apply it to bits you think might thin in the future I can promise you that you will experience shedding and it will look like you have a problem there for a while.

Sounds a bit pointless to be honest mate! Have you noticed any decent result with it?

Yes decent results, but like I said I couldn't use it everywhere (I'm focusing on the front hairline). There are others who slap it all over their head with 8%, 12%, 15% concentrations and have no sides. Others even dermaroll then put some on without waiting 24 hours w/o trouble - so I don't know if my case is typical. I'd recommend trying it on an area you've recently lost hair in but you can put up with shedding more/what's left in that area. Then you can see if you get any regrowth after a while. Like I said, I wouldn't recommend applying it to good areas you think are next in line for balding, you'll get a shed and it will look like things are getting worse (plus its hard to apply in thick/long hair).
