Are any of these treatments good options?

Hi,

I've been on minoxidil 5% but I've been reading a lot about some other treatments out there that might work. I want to eventually stop rogaine.

I dont use any special shampoo or anything. My hair is really starting to get thinner and lighter but theres lots of these very short, light, and thin hairs and they come out VERY easily. Just from applying rogaine i'll have like 20-30 of them on my fingers. Its been like this for several months now. And now its not the shedding from rogaine.

Anyone know if revivogen, Zix, or rejuveplex are any good? As for shampoos I just got nizoral but regenpure is better?

People seem to use laser hoods/hats with oils or poly 80? There seems to be this "OMG 400 something diode" laser thing you can make or something? Anyone here hear of any of this stuff? I'm thinking of using Emu oil even without the laser but not sure how to fit it all in.

Thanks

I don't think the lasers are worth trying. I'm thinking about Revivogen, though. It seems like the best thing out there that is also safe to use.

Lasers are worthless. Revivogen is more up for debate it has a list of ingredients that should in theory work but there is not much proof it does. You can try it but its a little pricey in my opinion and again your losing time if it does not help you and I think overall it probably will not. The big 3 with emphasis on the propecia everyone wants to avoid are really your only good proven options. I tried supplements, topical spironolactone, and revivogen myself for a while hoping to avoid propecia. I dont think any of them did a thing for me. No one wants to use propecia understandably, but its hard to argue it works a lot better then anything else.

:agree: except maybe that lasers may help a teeny bit.

On Rejuveplex...there's a poor fellow at a certain forum who brought up that it's not working for him- no regrowth etc. One of the guys behind the product, as well as some others, said it's not made for regrowth..there's nothing in it that you should expect regrowth from.
There isn't anything in RejuvePlex that ought to offer anyone regrowth
Which is strange..because they hyped the product before anyone ever even tried it, and in that forum post that announces the product and lists the ingredients- you will see mention of specific ingreds and their regrowth etc properties. One example:
When applied topically, Puresterol (at the proper formula ratio) has been shown to not only initiate regrowth and increase hair density, but to restore hair color as well!

Zix..not much out there on it doing much except initially..like other zinc products.

Regenepure...don't get me started.....

Thanks for all the help so far.

It's just that Rogaine isn't really doing anything for me and it seems like its made my hairs even worse. I Have so many tiny and thin hairs all over but they wont grow. In 1 year I've lost so much its crazy. Well not so much lost its there but so thin that you can't even see them. Scared to just stop using it as I will probably lose everything.

I have some Nizoral that I just bought but I hear people say it's not as good as regenpure? They both have that ketoconazole. I can't even find regenepure at any store though.

anyone try combining Revivogen with other things like minoxidil?

If you have been using minoxidil for 1 year, your hair could become dependent on it and after you quitted this stuff, you could lose even more hair at one time. But it's difficult to say. If I were you, I would increase the minoxidil dosage up to 10% and jumped on finasteride. Remember please that increasing minoxidil percentage is a bit Russian roulette and you could prospectively experience some shedding. But the lost hair will always come back - unless it is not attacked by DHT in the meantime.

The problem is I don't think minoxidil has done anything for me, and hasnt kept any of my hairs. I keep thinning and it seems like the hair that I apply it to is worse than the places I don't. I have all the hairs pretty much just really light and thin. They dont even grow out.

I think the shampoo I've been using this whole time was a bad choice as well. My doctor told me to use head and shoulders, but I stopped about a month ago and went to baby shampoo for now.

Might try nizoral. What do you tihnk about nizoral with emu oil?

Yes, it's true. I used a head and shoulders shampoo and I swear it wrecked my hair because I used it everyday over the course of 4 months. But apparently your hair eventually heals. But yeah, I'm in a similar boat as you. None of the mainstream treatments seem to agree with me. I'm in the process of figuring out how to keep what I have and regrow if at all possible. But just in the last few days, there's a lot of talk about this new stuff called Folexen. Take a look at the thread: http://www.gourmetstylewellness.com/interact/showthread.php/62501-Folexen-new-treatment-based-on-S-equol

I don't believe that you have done everything, guys. Your skin is the same like mine, only your disorder may be of a different magnitude. If you had done everything, you would have used 10-15% minoxidil+2,5 mg dutasteride/day.

Why dont you take the crap from your dog, microwave it and rub that onto your Balding area?

To the OP:
I'm just wondering if there's a reason you have not started Propecia already, a la fear of side effects? Personally I've been on the big 3 for almost two years now, with many supplemental products added and removed. However, I've always returned to just the big 3 after seeing no additional results after my 6 month trial of these various products (to name a few: Folligen, Tricomin, Nioxin, Saw Palmetto Extract, Spiro5, and most recently DermaRoller with Emu oil).

My advice is simple, just get on the big 3, believe that the products are working, take progress pictures, and finally the hardest part wait.
