Are my hairs miniaturizing in 1 cyle?

Alot of my shedded hairs seem to have a certain pattern. They start out thick in the ends and becomes thinner as it goes to the root. Like this: =======-------------

This has started SINCE i've started propecia. How do i know? Well ive been growing my hair long since starting propecia to see whether it is working or not. If it works, it would be logical to see hair thicken towards the root because that's the newest hair. But, in fact, I am seeing the complete opposite.

Has anyone notice this trend at all (especially while on finasteride)? Im on my 9+ months of propecia. Thanks!

I've noticed this too, I think even before I was on propecia. They are more pigmented at the end then get less and less so towards the root, and also thinner. I think it's probably normal, and nothing to worry about. My hair hasn't gotten any worse.

someone correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure that the reason for this is the catagen stage between anagen and telogen when the hair is no longer growing but rather being pushed out of the scalp. I think even my moms hair does this when i find it in the shower. I dont believe its anything to worry, the follicle is supposed to reexpand during the anagen phase right?

i took propecia for 13mo and experienced the same thing--shrinking not thivkening. right now 70% of my hairs on my head are thin and lacking in igment even on the sides and towards the back. idk what happened all i know is im only 20 and it all happened whiel on propecia. so if u thnikmthis may be happening to u i suggest u get some minoxidil to thicken up the hairs again.

I'm going through the same thing man.

But my hair tend to go like this =====----==--==--------

It goes thick and thin like the follicule can't decide whether to give in to DHT or not. It eventually goes thin.

Hans-
I noticed miniturization after 8 years on finasteride. The hairs became lighter and much thinner. I believe minoxidil and copper peptides helped me to regain the thickness and pigment.
