Are there any people here who took finasteride/dutasteride from a young age before full beard growth?

I wanted to see if beard development stops on finasteride if full growth is not completed. Is there anyone out there who has experience on this?

In theory, facial and body hair growth may be affected by taking finasteride as it needs DHT to become perpetual-terminal hair.

I took finasteride and my beard continued to fill in and then when i took dutasteride after a while it reverted back to how my facial hair was years ago (like when I was 19)

My guess is that it won't effect beard growth too much if you have already had your beard for a while

Wow that's interesting that it would revert after the hairs became terminal. What age did you begin taking antiandrogens? 19?

I'm in the same boat. The hair on my cheeks is very thin/patchy. I started taking finasteride 1 month ago regardless. There's nothing to say your beard won't continue to develop while using finasteride but I've actually started applying minoxidil foam to the patchy areas of my face to see what will happen. Apparently a lot of people have had some success using minoxidil to kick-start their beards.

I started finasteride at 18 years old. Patchy beard then. Patchy beard now been after quitting. I don't see how this is relevant... Who cares about beard growth?

I want my beard. All the men in my family have these flowing beards that come in weirdly late.

Nice, that's reassuring. It probably slows development somewhat but at least there's progress!

Started finasteride at 20 dutasteride at 21 am 22 now

Basically my beard is like it was when I was 19 now, and was thickest when I was 21 and only on finasteride. It is not so bad, just a little less thick and one patchy area.
