Are you cutting your pills?

Hi all, I've seen quiet a few ppl who buy theri finasteride 5mg and then cut it into halfs or quarters,so I think I have to warn you all about something.
I've asked my mother and my sister(they are both doctors) about cutting my 5 mg pill into quarters to reduce possible side effects.They told me that most probably, so theres a doubt, that the pill doenst contain the finasteride equally distributed, so I might be taking full dosage one day and the others just taking the crap they put together to fill in.They also told me that if the pill was supposed to be cut into halfs or quarters, there would be sulks, or lines in the pill(I dont know the word in english) so as to cut it more easily.

This has been debated countless times on this forum. The finasteride IS equally distributed in the pills as it would be impossible for it not to be. Pills are made via a bulk process with a vat of the mixture being compressed over and over again into pill form. The finasteride would have to be equally distributed within the mixture or there would be no way to ensure there was 5mg of the drug in each pill. There's no need for anyone to worry about this.
