Are your treatments a secret?

I first discovered I was thinning out was from my girlfriend. She noticed I was thinning on the top/back of my head. I was surprised. My dad is bald and my brother is thinning, but I just never thought it would happen to me.

I immediately went on Propecia and I intended not to tell anyone, especially my roommate because his girlfriend had a big mouth and I knew if she found it, it would be all over town.

Things went fine for a few months, only my mom, girlfriend, and brother knew about it. Then one week I went back to my parents to visit them (I was in college at the time) and one of my best friends saw my Propecia bottle in the bathroom. He laughed and joked about it a bit, but then he seemed cool about it. I asked him NOT to tell anyone about it and to keep it to himself.

About 30 mins after he left, I got a phone call from my roommate who was also home in the same city to visit his family. Apparently, my "bestfriend" went over to my roommate's house and told him AND his girlfriend about my thinning and being on Propecia.

I was not happy at all. My roommate gave me some sh*t about it for a while...but guess what.

A year later, who should come to me and ask advice about Propecia? My roommate. Now he is on it.

That was mean that he went on and told youre roommate.

Oh well what goes around comes around. My dad has a recieving hairline but my mom's dad was bold. So now Im thinking maybe my recieding hairline is not what dad has I might have what my grand dad had.
Oh I hope not. Im only 20, I use minoxidil, folligen, and getting on propecia soon. Should be here any day now.

Now is folligen sh*t? I mean it surely smells bad, but does it have sh*t in its contents?

Interesting thread...

I discuss my "treatment" (propecia) on a "need to know" basis only.

Obviously my doctor knows. The staff at my chemist shop know. From time to time I have had see specialist doctors and they have asked what medications I am on. I tell them.

Otherwise, that's about it. Not even my girl friend knows. Nor my closest friends. Or my family. There's no need. It's not as if male pattern baldness is a life threatening situation, so why talk about the treatment.

Each to their own, of course.
