I gave oral minoxidil a try a few months ago at a dose of 2.5mg a day, but I had to stop using it after about a month because it was making my face very puffy, especially my eyes. It was making me look 20 years older than my age. My eyes got so puffy that people started commenting on it, including my dentist who thought I'd had an allergic reaction to something. The puffiness went away after I stopped using the oral minoxidil. A few other people on these forums have had this side-effect too, so if you are thinking of using this treatment, be aware of this potential side-effect. Oral minoxidil is potent and risky stuff to be putting in your body, and I would say it is definitely best to stick with low doses such as 2.5mg a day. Better to be safe than sorry.
Cheers, Michael.
That doesn’t sound good! I’ve now read a bit about it. At first, I was keen to try it. Now, I’m not so sure. More research is needed.
It could have negative effects on your body over long-term use that you're not aware of yet though. It is risky stuff to be putting in your body, especially at a dose of 10mg a day.I’m using 10mg a day and don’t have any side effects except more body hair growth. It depends on person to person, you need to try to find out how you react.

Yes I think that's how we all feel on here. If some new effective and safer alternative to our current treatment options eventually comes out, I would throw all my dutasteride pills straight in the trash.Kind of agree with that but I'm hoping that some new treatments will be able to get me out of it in the future.
