Hey everyone. So my hair line has receded a decent amount from my natural juvenile hairline. I would just like to ask you guys what Norwood stage I am. Only 18 but any potential hair line advice would also be appreciated. Ignore the heart face blockers. Thanks in advance.

Not even close. Norwood 2 but with strong temple points. Worse than I was at 18 and I was a diffuse Norwood 3A at 21.5.

Yes, there is some history but not at this age. It's the fact that my hairline was perfect about a year and a half ago.

Thank you for replying honestly. Do you have any idea on moving forward. I believe finasteride at this age would be detrimental. Is there a solution to save some hair time until I believe it is safer to take finasteride.

Your hairs are just fine ;)

watch it, but not every day ;)

And because e. g. your father has a bald head, it doesn't mean that you also have a bald head.

My father is a fullhead and i'm bald ;)

For your own good I would try a small dose of finasteride, try quartering a 1mg tablet and add nizoral 2% shampoo twice a week.

It honestly only gets worse and will get to the point where you'll try finasteride regardless of what your original thoughts were.

I don't think you should get on any meds just yet. I would wait, and observe, and keep your powder dry for now.

I'd suggest that you just pick up some 2% Nizoral shampoo and use it 3x week, and that's it. Nizoral is a mild accelerant, and mild topical anti-androgen.

With that hair on your chest + your donor area that must be thicker than nikki minaj ***, i can guarantee you won't go completely bald unless you choose so.

Classic, strong Norwood 2. I agree with the wait and see advice on anti-androgens, you can try minoxidil and rosemary too for the time being (Rosemary was found to be as effective as 2.5% minoxidil) in addition to ketacozonale (Nizoral). There's no harm in these treatments and they're a relatively painless application. Apply all over the head including at the Norwood area.

Re: finasteride, DHT is really important during pubescence in men but not so much afterwards. Blocking your DHT now could mean missing out on more masculine facial features, increased height, muscle mass, and genital size. Your hair loss isn't bad at all, you'll want to wait till at least 21, and ideally 23 to start fina because you don't want to miss out on all of the benefits of DHT to men who are still going through puberty,

Also as for the Nizoral I disagree with the 3x a week advice, just get a good conditioner and use it everyday. Let the medicine sit for at least 5 mins on your scalp.

You're only 18 man you're still developing, so don't listen to anyone on here that tells you to hop on finasteride, let a dermatologist make that decision.
