So finasteride and minoxidil are supposed to "work better" on the vertex and crown versus the hairline/temples. Regrowth seems to be more common for the top and back of the scalp too, instead of the front. But for guys balding at the hairline/tempes - eventually this will creep all the way back to the vertex, won't it (i.e. Jude Law style)? At what point does hairline recession become vertex balding? And will finasteride help to hold this area better since it's supposed to work well for the top of the scalp? It doesn't seem to make sense that finasteride doesn't help as much for the hairline at the front, but as soon as the hairline recedes up into vertex then - bam! finasteride suddenly starts working miracles.
