Will give a try to Dr.Proctor fair 3 months if i don't see any improvment latter i will add more things.

Would you apply the same standard to any other hairloss treatment (like Propecia, for example)? Would you expect to see a noticeable improvement after only 3 months of using Propecia?

Could someone link me to Proctor's official website, or just tell me what it's called if that's not kosher? Googling his name + Proxiphen yields innumerable results, but I can't tell which is the one you all are talking about. Thank you very much!

I know that is short period but really is there no little improvment for 3 months, i read lot of people respond from rogaine at the first months. One thing i'm afraid from every topical including proxiphen is bad sheed or if really this sheed is real but i read lot of peeps using rogaine for example and their hair turned thinner, btw i have oily scalp so at the begin i will put proxihen on small region to see it, also i'm planing to use foam on another region.

Bryan, should one apply Proxiphen at the hairline that borders the scalp(hair free region) or BEHIND the hairline????? I am on my 6th week of Proxiphen and I do see alot of hairs sprouting at the hairline, I do notice the hairline has thinned somewhat just dead center since I started the Proxiphen. Is that normal? Will it cause a mild shed at the front. I never shed more than normal amounts of hair(50 to 100 hairs). Proctor says apply the cream in bare areas but I don't have any areas like that other than the temples that have receded slighly. I just have diffuse thinning down the middle of my hairline( female pattern). That's another question, could Propecia induce a female pattern type thinning since it affects your hormones? My thyroid is normal and my hormones are normal. I had blood work already.

Glad to see Proxiphen works.

Dr. Proctor's website is incredibly shady-looking. :) I don't think I could personally trust it. :nono:

Dr P sez: True, our website is pretty basic. Filled with technical information though, which I hope makes up for it. For years, I have intended to spiff up the cosmetics, but prefer to spend my time improving our formulations. Anyway, it works for us and loads quickly-- not everybody has broad band.

Does it contain spin trap c,ect?

You mean PBN and/or TEMPO/TEMPOL? That's a very good question, and I'm not sure of the answer to that. I saw some speculation sometime in the past that Dr. Proctor was at least thinking of adding something like PBN to Prox-N, but I don't know if he ever made a final decision on that. That would be another good thing to ask him about directly.[/quote]"

Dr P sez: Yes, we use PBN as well as TEMPOL/TEMPO in both Prox-N and Proxiphen. These are some of the "Superoxide dismutases" listed in the ingredients list. I own the patents for both these agents and SOD's in general. The spintraps/spin-labels are arguably the single most effective class of hair-loss-treatment agents. E.g., TEMPOL is now in late-state clinical trials for radiation alopecia. Read the abstract at:
http://astro2006.abstractsnet.com/pdfs/abstract_2588.pdf

Nothing else works for Radiation-induced hair-loss. In animal trials, TEMPO works even better.

I don't want to sue him. I'm just saying that he lies about his product.

Then why are you the only one I can recall ever complaining about an alleged spironolactone/minoxidil smell in Proxiphen?

I'm not lying, nor complaining. I'm just stating my (clear) experience. Dr. Lee said once that they aren't stable when used together. Guess he is right. Is it so hard to believe?

Dr P sez: It is true that spironolactone readily oxidizes in solution. In fact, stabilizing spironolactone was one of the major hurdles in developing Proxiphen. Hair loss treatment

Thanks Dr.Proctor, im glad to hear that Spin Traps are included in Prox-N!

I cant use Minoxidil, so i want to use the next best, or best non Minoxidil hair growth stimulator there is.

I ordered some Prox-N last week.

Thanks!

Dr. Proctor, Would you suggest applying the prox-n in between minoxidil applications, say like mid day? Or in conjunction with morning and night applications?

Most likely, it doesn't matter.

Can anyone please tell me their expierences about how long a bottle of Proxiphen lasts? I am only receeding in my temples so I would apply most there.

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that prox can be used every other day and still be effective...but I always thought spironolactone/minoxidil really need to be applied every day.

I think that's probably a little hint about what relatively small roles spironolactone and minoxidil play in Proxiphen.

You shouldn't buy something that isn't proven AND says things like "It grows significantly more hair on more people than any other agent" without evidence AND costs a 100 dollars a month. That's what I call a big scam. He could easily lower the price to 50 a month, but I guess he don't care for balding people. Maybe he needs a new car or something.

If you use it just in your temples, a vial should last more than 2 months, maybe 3??
About using it every other day...Dr Proctor recommends to use it every day to achieve the best results during 8 months. Then you can use it every other day for maintenance. I did as he said. He is the maker of the thing, isn't he?

Don't buy it. After 20 years in the business, I guess he doen't need your money for a new car.

I don't care about if he cares of he doesn't care about balding people. He makes a product that works for me, and several other customers. Just for this reason, I hope he drives an Aston Martin or similar.

Ok, this is the 3rd or 4th post about the same subject. I am going back to finasteride from 1st of January during a year (and proxiphen, of course) . In November 2008, I will review again
